I am the wife of a veteran, and mother of three. I have worked with children, families and couples for over 20 years in the mental health field. I believe in empowering others, providing hope, and allowing people to move at their own pace through listening to their experiences, and allowing tgem to decide what they want and where they want to move with each appointment. I have the ability to empathize in a way others can not because I have done my own therapy work, I understand in a way others do not when working with children because I have struggled with children in a way most people cannot understand if they have not lived it; this is a shared experience, a lived and challenging experience and for me , thankfully, this is a natural gift and one that I have that has only been enhanced by training and understanding of human development. Years of working with chiIdren and families, allows me to bring additional skills to the treatment room for both adults and children so everyone can meet their goals. Graduating from USC, and working in an agency that trained their staff well has allowed me to be trained in several ways to heal emotional wounds work with couples, work with the youngest children with PCIT , and use CPT to treat PTSD. Connection is a basic human necessity. I am in a profession that provides others hope, healing, and growth, in their lives. There are no words to express how meaningful it is to see as someone moves through their healing process others and being a small part of helping others in their process, but it is why I do this "work". It is always an honor for me to be a part of this journey in any way.

Life can feel overwhelming when you’re trying to manage your emotions, relationships, work, family expectations, and everything else at the same time. You may look like you have it all together on the outside while internally feeling anxious, exhausted, disconnected, or unsure of what comes next.
I’m Yilian Herrera, a licensed mental health professional with 16 years of experience, who provides a warm, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where you can slow down, understand what you’re experiencing, and begin making meaningful changes.
I work with teens and adults experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, ADHD-related challenges, emotional regulation difficulties, relationship concerns, low self-worth, burnout, and major life transitions. I especially enjoy working with people who feel overwhelmed, stuck, or like they have spent a long time putting everyone else’s needs before their own.
Finding a therapist who truly gets your life can feel like a long search. One who sees more than a diagnosis, who doesn't need you to explain yourself before you can get to work. If you're part of the LGBTQ+ community, that search often comes with an extra layer: the quiet work of figuring out whether this therapist is actually safe, or whether you'll spend your sessions educating them. With me, you won't have to do that work.
I'm a licensed therapist with more than 22 years of experience in mental health and addiction treatment. I've worked in community mental health centers, psychiatric hospitals, correctional settings, and private practice. I've sat with people in some of the hardest moments of their lives and know how to meet them there without flinching.
My primary focus is LGBTQ+ individuals and couples. That includes navigating identity, coming out at any stage of life, relationship dynamics unique to queer and same-sex partnerships, internalized stigma, minority stress, and everything that comes with living authentically in a world that doesn't always make that easy. I also work with anxiety, depression, trauma and PTSD, substance use and dual diagnosis, men's issues, and stress and burnout.
I have a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Jacksonville University. I’ve been at Wekiva Springs Center since 2022, and have experience with patients all over the spectrum from mood disorders, to substance abuse disorders, anxiety, PTSD, and psychotic disorders.
I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor. Over the past 10 years I have worked as a Substance Abuse Counselor, Group Facilitator, Counseling families, Individuals, The Sheltered Homeless population, First Responders, and the geriatric population. I have also worked with children who are in the foster care system. I have experience in anxiety, depression, self-esteem, trauma/PTSD, Behavior issues, and other areas as well.
