Mental health struggles impact everyone. It is up to us to take action to seek out those professionally trained to help us navigate our challenges. This assists us in achieving our goals of better coping, higher functioning, and creating stronger connections that result in happier, more resilient and better versions of ourselves. I have experience working with clients from every socioeconomic background and most diagnoses including those who struggle with the lasting effects of ongoing or past substance use and trauma. I have a greater understanding of the impacts declining mental health can have on every aspect of our lives.
My passion and area of expertise lie in supporting children and teens through challenging transitions and the stresses of everyday life. I started my mental health career in 2012 as a behavioral health professional supporting children and families in their homes and communities. From 2015 to 2022 I held several positions in residential treatment including direct support provider, clinical case manager, and program clinician. I spent two years working as a middle school social worker helping students develop social-emotional skills and advocating for their educational needs. Since then I have been providing outpatient counseling through a community-based health center to individuals of all ages.
