I am a Licensed Psychologist in Texas and a Nationally Certified School Psychologist who specializes in treating children, adolescents, and adults with social-emotional, behavioral, and educational needs. I received my Ph.D. in School Psychology from New York University in 2008 and completed an APA-approved clinical psychology internship at the Devereux Foundation in Pennsylvania. I have received training in both private and public school settings, outpatient settings, hospitals, and in specialized educational programs for children and adolescents with emotional, behavioral, and developmental needs. In addition to my clinical work, I am an Assistant Professor in the School Psychology Program at Texas State University. My research also involves developing and evaluating interventions to promote positive social and academic outcomes.

I'm Carol Hernandez, a bilingual therapist, mother, and proud Latina woman deeply connected to my culture and community. Over the past five years, I've gotten to work in all kinds of settings such as hospitals, inpatient and outpatient programs, and alongside medical teams, which has given me a pretty wide view of how mental health shows up in people's lives. I love working with BIPOC, LGBTQ+, immigrant, and neurodivergent communities.
