I am a Licensed Professional Counselor who focuses on treating acute and relational trauma with teens, individuals, and couples. I have been working as a psychotherapist for over 15 years. I believe that we heal in relationship to another, rather than trying to do it all alone. My style is warm, attentive and an active participant in your healing journey.

Whether it's systemic issues or unpredictable life changes, sometimes life can feel overwhelming and beyond our control. I provide a space for you to be your authentic self and receive unconditional positive regard through these challenges. Come as you are.
I received my Master's Degree in Social Work at Virginia Commonwealth University. I provided community-based mental healthcare and school-based mental healthcare before beginning my practice. I enjoy working with young people and adults to identify goals, harness strengths, and manage barriers to success.
With 26 years of clinical experience as a licensed therapist in DC and Virginia, I support individuals navigating life’s complexities—from stress, trauma, and grief to fertility concerns, family dynamics, LGBTQIA+ experiences, anxiety, depression, and moments of transition.
As a proud Howard University graduate, my work is grounded in cultural humility, social justice, and a belief that mental health is inseparable from history, community, and lived experience. Howard taught me to see clients not just through symptoms, but as whole people shaped by family, identity, policy, and perseverance.
This perspective fuels my commitment to therapy as both a healing space and a form of liberation. My practice is anchored in integrity, guided by compassion, and centered on the dignity and humanity of every person I serve.
Having initially entered the substance abuse treatment field 35 years ago, I completed a Masters in Clinical Social work and began work as a psychotherapist in both mental health agencies and private practice. I have over 30 years as a licensed clinical social worker. I also have a license as a substance abuse treatment practitioner.
I have supervised other therapists and I have expertise in the treatment of co-occurring (mental health & substance use) disorders and trauma.

Whether you're struggling with substance use yourself or loving someone who is, you don't have to figure it out alone. I support people living with substance use concerns and the partners, parents, and adult children who care about them. I also work with people navigating anxiety, depression, panic, OCD, ADHD, PTSD, and women's mental health, including postpartum concerns. I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with experience in both outpatient therapy and residential care, so I've worked with people at the very start of recovery and years into it. I'm trained in EMDR, Seeking Safety, Motivational Interviewing, and CBT. I'll meet you with warmth and respect for where you are today.
Seasons change and so do we. I believe that strong relationships are the foundation of meaningful change. With experience in schools, hospitals, and community mental health, I create a supportive space where you feel seen and heard. Using a person-centered approach, CBT, and mindfulness, I’ll help you reframe thoughts, set goals, and build tools for lasting growth.
I am a board certified psychiatric nurse practitioner for over 5 years, and I am also a board certified adult nurse practitioner for over 12 years. I began my nursing career graduating from university of MD with my bachelors, and then attended Johns Hopkins University for my masters. I decided to further my education by attending Brandman University to obtain my Doctorate and psychiatric mental health certification in 2018.
As a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC), I provide comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and supportive psychotherapy through secure telehealth appointments.
I have over 18 years of nursing experience, including 8 years in forensic psychiatry, nursing leadership, and education. These experiences have given me a strong understanding of mental illness across different settings and have shaped my patient-centered approach to care.
