If you reading this you may want to talk to someone. This room of words opens for deeper currents beneath everyday distress - anxiety, depression, longing, and the patterns that return again and again, the quiet reach toward substances that soothe what cannot yet be spoken.
I am a clinical social worker with years of experience. I value getting to know both the strengths and challenges my clients are facing. We will work collaboratively to address the issues we identify and create goals to achieve.
I believe that everyone has within them an abundant reservoir of love. Oftentimes, our access to this force is obscured by the wear and tear of life - traumatic experiences, structural injustices, interpersonal upheaval, moral injury, spiritual confusion... and the defenses we create to survive in response. At With Love Psychotherapy, my goal is to facilitate a homecoming to this force - for individuals and couples - as they work toward creating a life that feels aligned and meaningful. In this work, there is nothing to be ‘fixed’. There is only the intentional movement toward what serves you.
Hi, I’m Salvatore, a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with over five years of experience in inpatient and outpatient mental health settings. Finding the right psychiatric care can feel overwhelming, especially when you’ve been trying to hold everything together on your own. I work with adolescents and adults who may be feeling anxious, depressed, unfocused, emotionally drained, or stuck in major life stressors. I offer a space where you can slow down, feel heard, and make medication and treatment decisions together at a pace that feels right for you.
I am a board-certified psychiatrist who provides medically-oriented treatment for depression, Bipolar Disorder, anxiety, and Attention Deficit disorder. I pride myself as using non-addictive medications as much as possible. As a physician (MD) with a background in psychology, medicine, and neurology, my care is above average compared to providers without this background.
My approach is laser-focused, precision medication management. In addition to my clinical expertise, I mentor medical students, residents, and fellow providers. I am an Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at the Frank Netter School of Medicine. I plan to use all my clinical skills to help people achieve the maximum improvement in mental health.

My passion is to provide psychotherapy to individual adults and late teens. I truly enjoy working with clients with anxiety, depression, uncertainty in life transitions and who want to work towards self-improvement, strengthen interpersonal relationships, and problem solve. A strong, trusting therapeutic relationship is essential to gaining insight into your thoughts and behaviors. It helps you to feel accepted and supported as you work towards making positive changes in your life. You don’t have to face these challenges alone.

Find the right therapist for you
Headway makes it easy to find support for your mental health — from finding the right provider, to understanding costs, to scheduling with ease.
Factors to Consider When Choosing an Anxiety Therapist in New York
Searching for therapists in New York means choosing from a wide range of licensed professionals across urban, suburban, and rural areas. Your options may vary depending on where you live, what kind of support you want, and whether you prefer in-person or virtual sessions. If you’re looking for care related to anxiety, depression, ADHD, relationship challenges, grief, or life transitions, start by looking for a therapist whose listed specialties match your needs. Provider bios can also show whether a therapist uses approaches like cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, or trauma-informed care.
Location and schedule matter, too. A therapist in New York City may offer different appointment options than one in Buffalo, Albany, or the Hudson Valley, and virtual therapy can help broaden your search beyond nearby offices. Some people prefer meeting in person, while others prefer the flexibility of virtual appointments from home. As you compare therapists, look at appointment availability, whether they offer free phone consultations, and how they describe their session style. Reading profiles before booking can help you understand how a therapist communicates, what they focus on, and whether their approach fits what you’re looking for.
The cost of mental health care in New York varies, but using in-network insurance is one of the most reliable ways to reduce session costs. Headway helps make that process easier by showing therapists who are accepting new patients, verifying your insurance, and estimating your out-of-pocket cost before you book. Nationally, Headway partners with 100+ insurance plans, and you can confirm coverage based on your location and specific plan. Browse therapists, review bios, and book directly when you’re ready.
