Hi, I'm India. For the past 3 years, I've been supporting adults and teenagers who have been holding it together a while. I got into it because the quiet kind of struggling often gets overlooked. Maybe you're here because you woke at 3 a.m. with your chest tight and a list running. Maybe the group chat has sat there for days and you can't quite say why. Perhaps you're looking for counseling because getting up takes everything, or because you're good at your job and still hear a voice calling you a fraud. You don't have to have it named yet.
I'm not the therapist who just nods at you. I'll laugh with you. I'll get quiet when it's heavy. You set the pace and I follow it. Some weeks we walk it through step by step. Some weeks we write your story down until it reads differently on the page. I'll tell you the truth as I see it.
First session is mostly me asking and you answering, as deep as you want to go that day. Nothing assigned, nothing to prepare. Pick a time on my calendar here and we'll see if I'm the right fit for you.
I have worked in the field of mental health for almost 30 years. I earned my Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Master of Guidance and Counseling from Jackson State University. I have worked in the areas of community mental health, vocational rehab, hospital settings, foster care counseling, and the private counseling sector. I have also participated in several research studies pertaining to tobacco cessation and education. I am a proud member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. as well as a veteran of the United States Army.
My motto is rooted in Philippians 3:13-14, "Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended; but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those which are before, I press towards the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus."
Love yourself enough to give yourself the opportunity to succeed!
