I've been an LCSW for 25 years.
I'm an OIF/OEF Navy Veteran.
I'm experienced in treating trauma, depression, anxiety, PTSD, couples and men's issues.
I am a licensed psychologist providing services across the lifespan, although my training has provided me with a strong understanding of child and adolescent development, school based difficulties, and learning differences. I completed my doctorate in School Psychology at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and my pre-doctoral clinical internship at the Carolina Institute for Developmental Disabilities (CIDD). My master’s degree was completed in Counseling & Guidance at New York University. I specialize in treating children and teens with neurodevelopmental disabilities, including ADHD and autism.
My approach to therapy is warm, collaborative, flexible, and informed by evidence-based practices. I provide individual psychotherapy for children and adolescents to address a range of issues, including anxiety, depression, stress-related difficulties, academic challenges, emotional difficulties, behavioral challenges, and relationship challenges.
Together, we'll consider what isn’t working and develop insights for how to change. I combine multiple treatment techniques, including CBT, DBT, and other behavioral/solution-focused approaches. I would be happy to speak with you about ways we may be able to work together to meet your needs. You are welcome to call or email to set up an initial consultation.

My name is Greg, and I'm an LCSW and psychoanalytic candidate at the Psychoanalytic Center of the Carolinas. Originally from New York, I studied History of the Middle East and North Africa at Oberlin College before moving to Asheville, North Carolina. For several years, I worked doing direct care for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, as well as in-home care for older adults in the general population. While caring for my clients in these settings, I became interested in psychoanalysis as a way to more thoroughly understand their experiences. I then attended the Social Work program at Western Carolina University, where I specialized in the treatment of substance use disorders, working at an intensive outpatient program and a state treatment center offering affordable detoxification and acute care. After graduating, I moved to the Triangle to pursue psychoanalytic training, and am now in clinical practice in Chapel Hill.

Find the right therapist for you
Headway makes it easy to find support for your mental health — from finding the right provider, to understanding costs, to scheduling with ease.
Factors to Consider When Choosing a Therapist in Raleigh
Searching for therapists in Raleigh starts with knowing what kind of support fits your needs. Raleigh therapists may work with concerns like anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, grief, life transitions, stress, or trauma. As you compare options, look for a therapist whose listed specialties, approach, and experience match what you want to address. Provider bios can show whether a therapist uses approaches like cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, or trauma-informed care, and what you can expect in sessions.
Raleigh has a range of therapy options across neighborhoods and nearby communities, with both in-person and virtual appointments available. If you prefer in person therapy in Raleigh, NC, location, commute time, and office hours may shape your search. If your schedule changes often, virtual therapy may make it easier to find appointment times that fit. Beyond specialty, consider whether a therapist is accepting new patients, offers scheduling flexibility, and provides a free phone consultation. Reading bios before booking can help you understand communication style, session structure, and whether the therapist’s approach feels aligned with what you’re looking for.
Therapy in Raleigh can be a significant investment without insurance. Using in-network insurance is one of the most reliable ways to reduce session costs and make care easier to plan for. Headway helps you find Raleigh therapists who are accepting new patients, review detailed profiles, verify your insurance, and see your estimated out-of-pocket cost before you book. From individual therapy to couples therapy Raleigh residents may be searching for, Headway makes it easier to compare therapists, check fit, and book directly when you’re ready.
If you're experiencing or worried about violence, threats, or coercion in your relationship, couples therapy isn't usually the right starting point — individual support is safer. The National Domestic Violence Hotline (1-800-799-7233, or text START to 88788\) can help you think through next steps.
