I earned my Master of Social Work from UNC–Chapel Hill in 1999 and have more than 25 years of experience helping adults and families navigate emotional distress, relationship difficulties, and major life challenges. My background includes work as a psychotherapist and child welfare social worker.

I bring experience, steadiness, and genuine curiosity to my work. I am interested not only in what people are struggling with, but in how they came to experience themselves and their lives in the ways they do.

Through Headway, I provide insurance-based therapy to individual adults only. I do not see couples through insurance.

Whether this is your first time looking for a therapist or a "last ditch effort" to get help, I believe I can support you. When you are working with me, and yes, therapy is work, it is my hope that you will feel warmth, genuineness, and judgment-free compassion from me. Just the concept of feeling heard can be quite powerful in itself. I am trained in a number of therapeutic approaches but I do not believe in a cookie-cutter approach to clients, and will tailor my interventions to your needs.

Hello, want to work together on a path to Clarity in 2026? I provide ADHD Support in North Carolina

I provide support to NC residents through telehealth or in-person visits at our Pittsboro office in the Chatham Wellness Collective. (south of Chapel Hill)

A Streamlined Approach to ADHD Care. Navigating the ADHD assessment and treatment process can be frustrating and expensive. Many individuals face delays, expensive testing fees, and additional requirements, such as a psychological evaluation and/or a doctor’s note or EKG, just to receive care. Others are seen by telehealth only providers who can't prescribe stimulants and who tell you one has to start off on Wellbutrin or Strattera (non stimulants). That is terrible care. At our clinic, we prioritize efficiency and accessibility.

We believe in low doses of medication and finding your perfect dose to balance attention with mood. Most of our ADHD patients are on low dosing.

My approach to treatment is collaborative, forward-thinking, and tailored to your unique needs. I strive to create a warm, inviting atmosphere where you can feel comfortable discussing your challenges.

State Employees- Headway is part of a program that makes most visit have only a $10 copay.

NOW ACCEPTING AND SERVING CHILDREN!! Have you ever felt lost or lonely while in a familiar or crowed place? Life throws many surprises at us, and while we cannot predict the outcome of any situation, we can take control of how we respond to certain situations. I first developed a passion for therapy when I hit a roadblock in my own life and was struggling to move past it. I specialize in helping people identify and achieve their personal goals by coping with the issues that are causing them distress, anxiety, and discomfort.

Unfortunately, life doesn't always allow us to be the best version of ourselves. With my help, you'll learn about acceptance and how to exert your power of choice over whatever life may throw at you. I take great pride in the progress and success of my clients.

My job is to give you the tools and techniques to achieve a balanced and fulfilling lifestyle. After several sessions, you will become well-versed at handling issues whenever and wherever they arise. Let's work together to put your life back in focus. I look forward to working with you.

I received My Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health Science because I care so much about the Earth and the creatures that inhabit it. But I soon realized that if I was not interacting with people (or animals) that the work I was doing seemed irrelevant.

Then caring for my terminally ill stepmother led me first towards nursing, then to Social Work.

Since getting my MSW, I have worked In a wide variety of settings ranging from domestic violence shelters to a medical hospital to a homeless day center. I believe that despite our varied backgrounds and beliefs, we are all good at the core and want to be physically and emotionally healthy in order to make the most of our lives. Some of us have learned bad habits by being told, or telling ourselves, that certain things are not possible or us and that is rarely the case.

Find the right therapist for you

Headway makes it easy to find support for your mental health — from finding the right provider, to understanding costs, to scheduling with ease.

Factors to Consider When Choosing a Therapist in Burlington

Finding the right therapist in Burlington, NC starts with getting clear on what you're looking for. Whether you're seeking support for anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, or another concern, look for a licensed provider — such as an LCMHC, LCSW, psychologist, or psychiatrist — who has experience in that area. Reading a provider's bio can help you understand their approach and decide if they're a good match before you commit.

Burlington and the surrounding Alamance County area have a range of mental health providers, but availability and insurance acceptance can vary. Narrowing your search by the factors that matter most to you — like specialty, session format, or location — can save time. Many providers in the area offer both in-person and virtual sessions, giving you flexibility to fit therapy into your schedule.

Therapy in Burlington can be expensive without insurance, but affordable options exist when you use your in-network benefits. On Headway, you can enter your insurance details to see estimated session costs before you book, and many patients pay as low as $0 per visit. Nationally, Headway partners with over 100 insurance plans, making it easier to find a provider who fits your needs and your budget.
