Hi there and welcome!
My priority is supporting clients on their journeys towards personal healing & growth.
In 2010, I received my MSW/LMSW. While doing outpatient clinical work at the NYC non-profit agency JBFCS, I became an LCSW. In 2016, I began to establish my private psychotherapy practice, focusing on young and professional adults presenting with a broad variety of life challenges.
Nice to meet you!
As a Mental Health Counselor I am deeply passionate about helping individuals heal, grow, and reach their full potential. My work is fueled by my strong belief that everyone has the capacity to create change in their lives. My specialties are:
· Anxiety
· Depression
· Addiction & recovery
· Stress Management
· Trauma and PTSD
· Faith based (Christian) counseling
I started my work with infants and young children, guided by a simple belief: when we understand the meaning behind behavior, everything in a family can begin to shift. I use play as a primary way to connect with children and understand their inner world. Through play, children express thoughts and feelings they may not yet have words for. By joining them in this space, I’m able to better understand their experiences and help them feel seen, supported, and safe.
My path to becoming a therapist began in children’s media, where I spent fifteen years project managing educational content. That experience shaped how I see children today—curious, expressive, and constantly communicating, even without words.
I went on to earn my Master’s degree from New York University, training at the Nordoff-Robbins Music Therapy Center, where I deepened my understanding of how music and play can help children feel seen, regulated, and understood.
My clinical work has included early intervention, a specialized school for autistic children and young adults, and an elementary school supporting students with hearing loss and communication differences. Across these settings, I saw how powerful it is when a child is truly met where they are.
In 2023, I founded Sound Mind to create a more individualized, relationship-based practice—one where I can connect deeply and tailor my work to each child and family.

Factors to Consider When Choosing a Mental Health Therapist in New Windsor, NY
Searching for therapists in New Windsor starts with finding someone whose training matches what you want support with. Therapists can help with concerns such as anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, relationship challenges, and life transitions. As you compare options, look for specialties and approaches that fit your needs, such as cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, trauma-informed care, or experience with specific populations. A therapist’s profile can also show how they describe their style, what a first session may include, and which concerns they commonly support.
In a smaller community like New Windsor, the number of nearby in-person therapists may be more limited than in larger parts of Orange County or the Newburgh area. Virtual appointments can expand your options while still connecting you with a therapist licensed in New York. Along with location and format, consider appointment availability, whether the therapist is accepting new clients, and whether they offer a free phone consultation. Reading bios before booking can help you compare communication style, specialties, and session structure in one place.
Therapy in New Windsor can be a significant expense without insurance, and using in-network coverage is one of the most reliable ways to reduce session costs. Headway helps you find therapists who accept a wide range of insurance plans, verify your benefits, and see an estimated cost before you book. You can browse therapists in New Windsor, review profiles, compare virtual and in-person options, and book directly when you’re ready.
