I completed residency in Psychiatry at Mount Sinai St. Luke's Roosevelt Hospital and additional training in psychotherapy at the Institute of Psychoanalytic Education affiliated with NYU Langone Medical Center. I treat a range of of issues including anxiety, depression, inhibition at work and difficulty in relationships. Drawing on my clients' past experiences, I am able to guide them through their present difficulties, by making certain patterns of feelings and behaviors more obvious to them. Aside from enhanced awareness, a warm and trusting therapeutic relationship with the therapist is the key to a long lasting transformation.
My goal is to help my clients overcome a sense of feeling stuck, manage stress at work, and build healthier relationships. The ultimate goal of any therapy is to achieve a greater degree of freedom in making one's decisions.
I will consider treatment with medications when it is warranted and will use them only when symptoms come in the way of talking and working through an issue. Ideally, medications should be used as a temporary measure to help you go through a rough patch.
