I am empathic, non-judgmental, actively listen ,supportive
Hi, I’m a Licensed Mental Health Counselor–Diagnostic (LMHC-D) and CASAC with a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I work with adults and adolescents facing anxiety, depression, ADHD, bipolar disorder, personality concerns, substance use, and life stress. My approach is warm, supportive, and practical. I use tools from CBT, DBT, and Motivational Interviewing to help you better understand yourself and make real, lasting changes. My goal is to create a space where you feel comfortable, understood, and empowered to move forward.
My motto is: "Helping People Help Themselves to a Better Life. I support people with a smile and a reassuring description of my skills and abilities. I reinforce my respect for their choices as we engage in therapy together. I work to create a safe space for clients to address their issues.
As the chief psychologist at Cornell and R.I.T. I had the privilege of working with young adults and professionals as they navigated challenging and transformative periods. Since then, I have been working in private practice, helping clients manage challenges related to anxiety, OCD, depression, life transitions, and relationship issues.
I have dedicated my career to helping children and young adults reach their fullest potential. With over 20 years of hands-on experience across clinical, educational, and neuropsychological settings, I provide compassionate, dignified care grounded in deep expertise. My training was shaped by leading scholars in neuropsychology, educational psychology, and behavior analysis. I trained in a neuropsychology lab at Stony Brook University, became a licensed, board-certified behavior analyst, completed doctoral training at Southern Illinois University under Dr. Barbara Cordoni, and later completed postdoctoral re-specialization in clinical neuropsychology under Dr. Elkhonon Goldberg, specializing in pediatric and complex behavioral cases.
A big reason why I became a therapist is reflected in the quote: "Your vocation is where your deep gladness meets the world's deep need" (Frederick Buechner). I find tremendous joy in helping clients move toward healthier and more meaningful lives.

Find the right therapist for you
Headway makes it easy to find support for your mental health — from finding the right provider, to understanding costs, to scheduling with ease.
Factors to Consider When Choosing a Therapist in New City
Searching for therapists in New City starts with finding someone whose training matches what you want support with. Therapists may focus on concerns like anxiety, depression, grief, relationship challenges, trauma, or life transitions. As you compare options, look for specialties and approaches listed in each profile, such as cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, trauma-informed care, or family therapy. These details can help you choose a therapist whose experience lines up with your goals.
In a smaller city like New City, the number of nearby in-person sessions may be more limited than in larger areas. Virtual appointments with a New York therapist can expand your options while still letting you search for someone licensed to provide care in the state. Beyond location, compare appointment availability, whether a therapist is accepting new clients, and whether they offer a free phone consultation. Reading therapist bios can also show how they structure sessions, communicate, and describe their approach before you book.
Therapy in New City can be a significant investment without insurance. Using in-network insurance is one of the most reliable ways to reduce session costs and understand your expected out-of-pocket expense before care begins. Headway helps you search therapists who accept a wide range of insurance plans, review estimated costs after your benefits are checked, and book directly when you’re ready.
If anyone in your family is experiencing or worried about abuse, threats, or coercion, joint family or couples therapy usually isn't the right starting point — individual support is safer. The Childhelp National Child Abuse Hotline (1-800-422-4453) and National Domestic Violence Hotline (1-800-799-7233, or text START to 88788\) can help you think through next steps.
