My style of therapy works best with those who are seeking healing that goes beyond just the symptoms. I want my clients to move toward a fuller life, that does not stop at just managing symptoms and moving on. Therapy can be scary and sometimes difficult, but there is hope! As a Licensed Professional Counselor, I offer counseling and therapy services via Telehealth, to adult persons in Arizona and Washington State. I've been working in the field for over 20 years, and have found in the last 10, that for most people, the online option has worked just as well as in person. It provides convenience, accessibility, and a more comfortable setting for my clients to be more open and engaged.
I am a family and Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner. I received my advanced degree from Regis University and a postgraduate certificate in Psychiatry and Mental Health from the University of Cincinnati. I completed the Community-Based Integrated Care Training Fellowship at the University of Washington. I have an interest in treating mood disorders, anxiety, ADHD, insomnia, adjustment disorders, and PTSD, serving individuals from ages 18 to 99 years old in a compassionate and personalized way
My interest in mental health began during my military service as a Survival Instructor in the United States Airforce. During this time, I had the privilege of teaching students from all walks of life the skills to survive in any environment. I became fascinated with human behavior, stress management/responses and the profound capabilities of the mind, body and spirit when faced with adversity. While navigating through the wilderness, a waypoint is defined as "a stop along ones journey." It is a safe place where the traveler can take shelter, rest, gain insight on where they've been, accept and honor where they are, and determine their way forward. It's a place for healing. This is what I strive to provide for my clients. I completed my Master's in Clinical Mental Health Counseling through Northwestern University. I have experience counseling couples, teens, adult individuals, and groups. As an Airforce veteran, I have a passion for serving military members and their families. Other interests include working with blended families, and LGBTQ+ individuals and their parents
