I have 25 years experience as a psychotherapist working with all ages from children to the elderly in correctional settings, substance abuse, and a university.
I've been a Social Worker since 2nd grade-always first in line to give a hug, support friends, and share snacks. In college, I took "Intro to Social Work", and I've never looked back. My career officially started in Addictions, and with my post-graduate studies in Structural Family Therapy, I've honed in my therapeutic skills. I've worked in a variety of settings, most recently as a Veterinary Social Worker. Logic, humor, and animals (preferably dogs!) are the cornerstone tools of my work.
As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the states of New York, Colorado, and New Jersey, I've had the opportunity to work with children, teens, adults, couples, and families in various settings. While providing behavioral health supports, I've had the ability to partner through the process of healing wounds that serve as an impediment to wellness.
Within my practice, I utilize Brainspotting, mindfulness, cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, trauma focused, play therapy, and solution focused therapy to aid in reaching a state of homeostasis.
I specialize in working with adults ages 18-40, focusing on religious trauma, life transitions, grief, self-esteem, relationships, and LGBTQIA+ issues. My work is rooted in psychodynamic therapy and incorporates CBT & DBT skills according to each client's needs.

My current credentials are as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Professional Art Therapist (LPAT), Board Certified Art Therapist (ATR-BC), and Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC). I'm a licensed clinical social worker based in Maplewood, NJ and the founder of canyons therapy. I can see clients who live in New Jersey, Texas, Connecticut, and Massachusetts. I am a recovering perfectionist, anxious mom, and lover of a slow-paced life. In session, you will find me casually dressed, warm beverage in-hand, and ready to hold space for your most imperfect self. Outside of session, I’m wrangling my young kids and doing my best to embrace our chaos. I enjoy being in nature, watching the latest documentary, and curating mood-setting playlists.
I have a Masters Degree in Counseling Psychology with a specialty in Marriage and Family Therapy EdS, as well as a PhD in Marriage and Family Therapy from Seton Hall University.
I believe the therapeutic relationship is the cornerstone of healing and growth and am dedicated to creating a collaborative and empathetic environment. I have been a licensed NJ therapist for 3 years, working with individuals of various ages, cultures, and points of view. I especially enjoy working with those in transitional periods of life - preteen and adolescents, young adults/college students, and adults navigating a new role or challenge for the first time.
