I entered this line of work because I wanted to help the people close to me, and quickly realized I needed real tools to do that well. So I went back to school for psychology and clinical mental health, and have been working with adolescents and adults for about six years. A lot of people who reach out for therapy have been carrying something for a long time before they finally make the call... anxiety, depression, trauma, or the sense that you're not quite sure who you are anymore. Those are the people I show up for. I practice in New Jersey via telehealth, with evening availability.
You don't have to have everything figured out to begin healing. My goal is to create a warm, supportive space where you feel seen, heard, and empowered to build a life that feels authentic, meaningful, and aligned with your values. I believe healing happens through a collaborative relationship built on trust, compassion, and genuine connection. My approach is person-centered, strengths-based, and trauma-informed, integrating evidence-based therapies including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), polyvagal-informed interventions (PVT), mindfulness-based strategies, and Motivational Interviewing to meet each client's unique needs.
I earned my Master of Science in Education in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from St. John's University in New York City. My experience includes working with children, adolescents, adults, and families across community mental health, intensive outpatient treatment programs, Head Start consultation, and private practice. I have extensive experience supporting individuals in recovery from substance use and co-occurring mental health concerns while helping clients build resilience, strengthen coping skills, and create lasting, meaningful change.
As a former collegiate athlete, I have a special passion for working with athletes navigating performance pressure, injury recovery, confidence challenges, burnout, and the mental demands of competition. Find the right therapist for you
Headway makes it easy to find support for your mental health — from finding the right provider, to understanding costs, to scheduling with ease.
Factors to Consider When Choosing a Therapist in New Jersey
Searching for therapists in New Jersey starts with finding the right fit for your needs, location, and schedule. Across the state, therapy options can vary between urban, suburban, and rural areas, so it helps to look for a therapist whose listed specialties match what you want support with. That may include anxiety, depression, ADHD, relationship challenges, grief, or life transitions. You can also look for training in approaches like cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, eye movement desensitization and reprocessing, or acceptance and commitment therapy.
Your search may look different in Newark, Jersey City, Trenton, South Jersey, or a smaller New Jersey community. Some people prefer an in-person therapist close to home or work, while others choose virtual sessions for more scheduling options. Beyond specialty, review whether a therapist is accepting new patients, offers appointment times that fit your calendar, and provides a free phone consultation. Reading therapist profiles can help you understand their style, areas of focus, and what a first session may include before you book.
The cost of therapy in New Jersey can vary, and using in-network insurance is one of the most reliable ways to reduce session costs. Headway helps you search for licensed therapists who are accepting new patients, see estimated out-of-pocket costs before booking, and compare virtual or in-person options in one place. Nationally, Headway partners with over 100 insurance plans, and you can enter your insurance details to confirm coverage for your specific plan and location. Browse therapists, review bios, and book directly when you’re ready.
