Maya Angelou "Do the best you can until you know better. Then when you know better, do better."
Welcome! It takes great courage to connect with a new therapist. I welcome you to this experience. As a psychologist and a registered nurse (ret) I have helped with many forms of difficulty. In practice for over 3 decades, I have learned what works and what doesn't. I match your style and strengths with the change you desire. I have been fortunate to study with educational leaders. My experiences in medical, psychiatric and emergency settings taught me a wide range of interventions that can be helpful.
I do not treat Parkinson's Disease. It is medical condition that should be treated by a medical doctor and a physical therapist. I do not treat eating disorders unless they are in remission. I refer post partum psychosis to a specialty center as it is beyond the scope of my practice.
With 29 years of experience in the field, I remain deeply committed to helping individuals and families impacted by the far-reaching effects of mental illness and every day life stressors. I believe meaningful change begins when clients feel safe, seen, heard and supported. I create a nurturing, emotionally safe environment and emphasizes the importance of a strong therapeutic relationship as the foundation for healing. Known for my nonjudgmental, compassionate approach.
My work is collaborative and individualized, integrating evidence-based practices through a trauma-informed and attachment-based lens. I draw from cognitive-behavioral, strengths-based, and relational approaches while incorporating Sandplay Therapy, expressive and play-based techniques, mind-body practices, meditation, stress management, and psychoeducation. When clinically appropriate, these methods are thoughtfully blended into a comprehensive approach that supports healing, growth, and overall wellness.
I earned my undergraduate degree in Family Studies from the University of Maryland in 1998. After returning to New Jersey, I began working in community mental health while pursuing my Master of Social Work at Rutgers University, graduating magna cum laude in 2002. I completed three years of study and specialized training in Sandplay Therapy. I went on to provide intensive in-home family and individual therapy to children, adolescents, adults, and parents in crisis. After four years of postgraduate supervision and clinical work, I earned my Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) credential in 2008.
I continued to provide therapeutic services through New Jersey’s Children’s System of Care and I also worked in outpatient settings, supporting children, teens, adults, and parents.

Find the right therapist for you
Headway makes it easy to find support for your mental health — from finding the right provider, to understanding costs, to scheduling with ease.
Factors to Consider When Choosing a Therapist in Medford
Searching for therapists in Medford starts with finding someone whose experience matches what you want support with. Therapists may focus on concerns like anxiety, depression, grief, relationship challenges, life transitions, or work stress. As you compare options, look for specialties and approaches that fit your needs, such as cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, trauma-informed care, or mindfulness-based counseling. Provider bios can also show how each therapist structures sessions and what you can expect from their style.
In a smaller community like Medford, local in-person options may be more limited than in larger New Jersey cities. Virtual therapy can expand your choices while still connecting you with a therapist licensed in New Jersey. When narrowing your search, consider appointment availability, whether the therapist is accepting new patients, session format, and whether a free phone consultation is offered. Reading profiles before booking can help you compare communication style, areas of focus, and scheduling fit in one place.
Therapy in Medford can be a significant cost without insurance. Using in-network insurance is one of the most reliable ways to reduce session costs and understand what you may pay before care begins. Headway makes that process easier by helping you find therapists, check what insurance coverage may be available for your plan and area, verify your benefits, and show an estimated session cost before you book. You can browse therapists, review bios, and book directly when you’re ready.
