Hi, I'm Julie Mendizabal, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker based in Florida. I specialize in helping individuals and couples feel heard, understood, and empowered. Whether you're navigating anxiety, relationship struggles, or a life transition that's left you unsteady, I offer a compassionate, nonjudgmental space where you can explore what's happening and find lasting change. Starting therapy can feel like a big step, especially when you're already carrying so much — so if you're feeling uncertain, stuck, or simply know that something needs to change, you're not alone, and you don't have to face it on your own.

Welcome! I specialize in evidence-based treatment for anxiety disorders, ADHD, Autism, trauma-related concerns, grief, and life transitions. I work with clients across the lifespan, including children, adolescents, adults, first responders, veterans, and families seeking structured support and meaningful change.
I use compassion, warmth, and a touch of humor to help clients feel safe, understood, and at ease during our work together. I also strive to create a supportive environment where clients can explore challenges without judgment and reconnect with their strengths.
Therapeutically, I draw from cognitive behavioral therapy, trauma-informed practices, psychodynamic approaches, DBT skills, mindfulness, and strengths-based coaching to support clarity, healing, and growth at each client’s pace.
Inspired by the Tibetan Buddhist concept of the Four Immeasurables—happiness, joy, compassion, and equanimity—my practice reflects a commitment to cultivating emotional resilience and deeper wellbeing in everyday life.
Whether you're seeking support through stress, trauma, neurodivergence, identity development, or life transitions, my role is to walk with you, guide you, and help you discover meaningful change from the inside out.
I am a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) providing compassionate, evidence-based psychiatric care and medication management. I work with individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, ADHD, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder, substance use concerns, and other mental health challenges.
My experience includes outpatient psychiatry as well as inpatient behavioral health and dual-diagnosis care. I also bring an extensive medical nursing background in critical care, telemetry, and medical-surgical settings, which helps me consider the connection between physical and mental health when caring for my patients.
I am a licensed clinical psychologist with more than a decade of experience supporting adults, couples, and families through meaningful emotional and behavioral change. I provide compassionate, evidence-based care and strive to create a welcoming environment where you feel heard, understood, and empowered in your healing process.
In my 25 years of experience with diverse populations, I have learned that no matter what your story is, you have strengths and potential.
I believe feelings aren't obstacles to manage they're signals worth understanding. For over five years, I've worked alongside people who are quietly exhausted: carrying anxiety, sitting with grief, untangling patterns in their relationships, or navigating a life that no longer fits who they're becoming. My clients often describe our sessions as the first place they've felt truly heard without needing to perform strength or explain away their emotions. I work with individuals and couples across New York, New Jersey, and Florida via telehealth, with evening, morning, and weekend availability, so quality care doesn't have to be another thing to schedule around. I accept Aetna, BCBS, Cigna, Anthem, Empire, and other major plans. You don't have to have everything figured out before reaching out we can start exactly where you are.
