Welcome! I'm Dr. Ben Osevwe, a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) and board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) with more than 22 years of experience in mental health care, including over 4.5 years as a PMHNP. I founded Solid Foundation Psychiatry with one mission: to provide compassionate, evidence-based, and personalized psychiatric care that empowers individuals to live healthier, more fulfilling lives.
I work with adolescents and adults ages 12 through 90, providing comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and supportive psychotherapy. I believe that effective mental health treatment goes beyond prescribing medication. Every visit is an opportunity to listen, educate, collaborate, and develop a treatment plan that reflects your unique goals, values, and life circumstances.
My clinical interests include ADHD, depression, anxiety disorders, bipolar disorder, autism spectrum disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), insomnia, mood disorders, and other psychiatric conditions. Whether you're seeking help for the first time or have struggled with symptoms for years, I strive to create a safe, respectful, and judgment-free environment where you feel comfortable sharing your concerns.
I provide both in-person psychiatric care in Pearland, Texas, serving the greater Houston area, and telepsychiatry to patients in states where I am licensed. My approach combines evidence-based medication management with psychotherapy and lifestyle recommendations.
My philosophy is simple: Every person deserves to be heard, treated with dignity, and given the tools to thrive. I believe healing begins with a trusting relationship, open communication, and a treatment plan tailored to your individual needs.
It is a privilege to be part of your mental health journey, and I look forward to partnering with you to help you build resilience, restore hope, and achieve lasting emotional wellness.
Life is a Journey. On this Journey we're faced with many twists & turns. My practice style is collaborative in nature. It focuses on joint commitment to change. Yet eclectic enough to incorporate different approaches that will help clients as they write and re-write their stories to transform their reality. Whether you are looking to address LGBTQ issues, individual therapy, family or couples therapy, intimate partner violence, sexual abuse, addictions, depression or other mental health issues.
I am licensed in Texas with over 10 years of professional work experience. I have experience in helping clients with stress and anxiety, anger management, & depression. I am here to help you gain a better sense of yourself and maintain a healthy, balanced lifestyle. I believe in providing a space where clients can talk freely while providing gentle assurance as needed. Open up at your own comfort level, I am here to support you!
For me, helping others has always been deeply personal. I believe every person deserves to feel heard, seen, and understood. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Houston–Clear Lake. I enjoy working with individuals navigating chronic pain or illness, adjustment challenges, and caregiver burnout. I bring a compassionate, collaborative approach to therapy and strive to create a space where clients feel safe, supported, and respected as we work together toward meaningful and realistic goals.
My primary goal is to provide a helping hand to clients in need. Clients will find that I am able to listen and provide helpful strategies to help navigate through whatever journey they find themselves on. Whether it be a young child, adolescent, or adult, I am able to keep them at the center of the therapeutic process and help them discover peace and purpose.
I graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Houston and obtained a Masters of Education in Counselor Education from the University of St. Thomas. I was an educator for 13 years including 5 as a school counselor/administrator.
As a school counselor, I have assisted students with disabilities, trauma, mood and personality disorders. I have also worked with parents who find themselves in a cycle that they feel cannot be broken. My intention is to help clients identify hurts, hang-ups, and habits that keep them from living to their full potential and work through them.
I am EMDR trained and provide trauma informed care. I have also utilized Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and various interventions from Dialectical Behavioral Therapy to treat clients with anxiety, depression, and self-harming behaviors.
Whatever it is you are facing, I am willing to listen and provide sound care. As a fellow human, I understand the needs that can arise from trauma, hurt, and misunderstanding. If you are in need of an ear to hear and a heart to care, please contact me. I am here to help.

Factors to Consider When Choosing a Mental Health Therapist in Pearland, TX
Searching for therapists in Pearland starts with finding someone whose training matches what you want support with. You may be looking for care related to anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, grief, work stress, or life transitions. As you compare therapists, look for specialties and approaches that fit your needs, such as cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, trauma-informed care, or couples counseling. A therapist’s profile can also help you understand their style, what they focus on, and what a first session may include.
Pearland has therapist offices near neighborhoods like Silverlake, Shadow Creek Ranch, and areas near Pearland Town Center, but local appointment options may vary by schedule, specialty, and location. Virtual therapy can expand your options across Texas while still helping you work with a licensed therapist who fits your preferences. When narrowing your search, consider whether the therapist is accepting new patients, offers appointment times that match your calendar, and provides a free phone consultation. Reading bios before booking can help you compare communication style, clinical focus, and whether the therapist works with adults, couples, or families.
Therapy in Pearland can be a significant expense without insurance. Using in-network insurance is one of the most reliable ways to reduce session costs and understand what you may pay before care begins. Headway helps you search for Pearland therapists who take insurance, review estimated out-of-pocket costs before booking, and choose between in-person and virtual appointments when available. You can browse therapists, review profiles, and book directly when you’re ready.
