With over twenty-seven years of diverse nursing experience, particularly in Emergency Room and Mental Health settings, such as St. Elizabeth Hospital, Providence Hospital, and the Psychiatric Institute of Washington. Two decades of clinical excellence.
Dr. Cindy Ruelas-Tafolla's path to becoming a clinician began at age 13 with the sudden loss of her father — an experience that planted the seed of her life's purpose: to be the kind of support she needed during her own darkest moments.
She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Law and Society from UC Santa Barbara, her Master of Social Work from the University of Southern California, and her Doctorate in Social Work (DSW) from USC.
Over two decades, she has served as a Medical Social Worker, Case Manager, and Behavioral Health Therapist — bringing doctoral-level depth, board-certified credentials, and genuine compassion to every client she works with.
Justin McPeak is a warm, approachable, and patient-focused psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner with over 11 years of experience in the healthcare field. He holds board certifications in psychiatry, family medicine, emergency medicine, and critical care, which gives me a broad clinical perspective. While his career has spanned several specialties, he found his true passion in mental health. He is deeply motivated by the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of the people he serves.

I love helping people develop skills to improve their lives, communication and relationships. It is important to know that one theory does not meet everyone’s needs, therefore I use many different approaches to helping my clients to build their own best version of themselves.

Hi, and welcome! I am happy you are here to explore my offerings and a return to your wellbeing. A bit about me:
I am a board-certified, doctorally prepared Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) with over 17 years of experience spanning acute care, crisis response, psychiatric nursing, and public health. I offer integrative psychiatric care that blends evidence-based medicine with holistic, trauma-informed approaches. I aim to create a safe space where you feel seen, supported, and empowered to heal and thrive.
Outside of work, I love being active in nature, dancing, traveling, cooking, and spending time with my friends, family, and my beloved dog.
