Hi! I am Katie. I am an Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and a Masters Certified Addictions Counselor (MCAP). I received my bachelors from UF and then went on to get my Masters in Social Work (MSW) from USF. I have nearly 10 years of experience working in the helping profession. After graduation, I began working in child welfare and for the past 3 years I have been working in residential substance use and trauma treatment programs.

I'm a licensed clinical social worker with a Doctor of Social Work degree and experience working with individuals across healthcare, community mental health, higher education, and private practice. My clinical interests include anxiety, depression, trauma, ADHD, life transitions, obesity medicine, bariatric behavioral health, and helping people navigate complex medical conditions.

Clients often describe me as approachable, genuine, and easy to talk to. I believe therapy works best when you feel comfortable enough to laugh, be honest, ask difficult questions, and even challenge me if something doesn't fit. I value authenticity over perfection and believe that meaningful change happens through a strong therapeutic relationship built on trust, respect, and a little humor along the way.

I work with adults, couples, moms, and Black women navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, burnout, relationship challenges, and major life transitions. As a mom myself, I understand the weight of balancing caregiving, relationships, work, and your own emotional well-being. I’m especially passionate about supporting Black women as they navigate the pressures of being “strong,” people-pleasing, and learning to prioritize themselves without guilt.

My practice is inclusive, affirming, and judgment-free. I proudly support LGBTQIA+ individuals, nontraditional and kink-positive relationships, and clients exploring intimacy and sexual wellness through sex therapy. My goal is to create a space where you can show up fully as yourself.

CJ deeply believes that a person’s past does not define their future. With a potent blend of empathy and expertise, she is passionate about helping individuals uncover their innate resilience and capacity for healing. Her approach is rooted in the belief that even the most painful histories can be transformed into sources of strength.

Having grown up in foster care, CJ brings a lived understanding of adversity—not as her reason for becoming a therapist, but as a quiet source of strength that has shaped her superpower: the ability to sit with any form of trauma without judgment or shock. Her presence is steady, compassionate, and unshakable—able to hold space for stories that are often too heavy for others to carry.

Specializing in trauma-informed and somatic therapies, CJ supports individuals, couples, and families through experiences of PTSD, anxiety, and complex trauma. Her mission is to guide clients toward a life marked by grace, growth, and resilience.
