I bring a compassionate, real-world understanding to therapy. My experience includes supporting individuals living with severe and persistent mental health challenges, veterans, people affected by addiction, and those navigating many other mental health concerns. I create a supportive, nonjudgmental space where you can feel seen and understood. - I have been a licensed psychologist since 2007. I have advanced training in eating disorders, PTSD, and suicide prevention. I also have knowledge and a great deal of experience in many different areas, including depression, anxiety, panic attacks, Bipolar Disorder, ADHD, etc. I work with children, adolescents, adults, and older adults. I generally use behavioral, cognitive-behavioral (CBT) and interpersonal modalities in therapy. I was in private practice from 2007-2015 and then worked full-time for the Veterans' Administration (VA) for almost ten years. I have recently transitioned back to private practice. I have been doing only telehealth for the past five years. I must admit that I was skeptical about telehealth at first, but have been absolutely amazed at how effective it is.

Find an expert who truly understands maternal mental health
Headway helps you find expert-guided support for every stage of motherhood — from finding the right therapist or psychiatrist, to understanding costs, to scheduling with ease.
Factors to Consider When Choosing a Postpartum Therapist in Tampa
Finding postpartum therapists in Tampa starts with looking for someone whose training matches the type of support you want. Postpartum concerns can include postpartum depression, postpartum anxiety, birth-related stress, identity shifts, and relationship strain. Some people also look for a prenatal depression therapist or a counselor for pregnancy support before or after birth. As you compare postpartum therapists, look for experience with perinatal mental health and signals of specialized training, such as the perinatal mental health certification, or PMH-C.
In a mid-sized city like Tampa, you may find a mix of therapists with local offices and therapists who offer virtual appointments across Florida. For new parents, virtual care can make it easier to fit sessions around infant care, physical recovery, and an unpredictable schedule. When narrowing your search, review whether a therapist is accepting new patients, offers appointment times that work for you, and provides a free phone consultation. Reading bios can also help you understand each therapist’s communication style, approach, and experience with postpartum depression counseling.
Therapy in Tampa can be a significant cost without insurance, and using in-network benefits is one of the most reliable ways to reduce session costs. Headway helps you find therapists who match your preferences, and you can enter your insurance details to confirm coverage for your location and specific plan and see upfront cost estimates before you book. You can compare postpartum therapists in Tampa, review bios, and book directly when you’re ready.
