Simple Intentions Counseling LLC looks for client's that are insightful, curious, and ready to explore the deeper layers of their emotional life. They may be struggling with anxiety, self-doubt, relationship patterns, or a persistent feeling of being “stuck.” They want clarity, self-acceptance, and tools to manage their emotions — but more than that, they want to understand why they feel the way they do. They’re not afraid to be challenged and are open to connecting their current struggles with earlier life experiences. They want lasting change, not quick fixes — and they’re ready to do the work.
Hi! Welcome! Thank you for visiting my page! I am a Marriage and Family therapist with over 10 years in clinical practice. I focus my work on individuals and couple struggling with the stressors and impacts of building their families. I also specialize in infertility and treatment support, loss/grief work and parenting challenges.
My name is Jackson and I am a transgender man working as a licensed professional counselor (LPC) in Connecticut. I specialize in working with the LGBT+ community and those with complex trauma. Other topics relevant to my experience include crisis/suicidality, HIV, homelessness, substance use/addiction, harm reduction, and neurodivergence.
I also offer consultation sessions for mental health letters of support for gender affirming care (hormone therapy, surgery, hair removal, etc). I use WPATH standards of care to assess your situation and will provide a letter of support and/or help you to create a plan for further support if we identify any concerns. Keep in mind different doctors/insurances/states have differing laws regarding these letters and I may need to do research prior to writing your letter to ensure we do so correctly.
HI! I'm Elizabeth! I'm an LMFT who graduated in 2018 fron Liberty University. I've worked in community mental health, psychiatric hospitals and private practice. I think I have the best job in the world and I absolutely love helping my clients find strategies and solutions that make sense for them! I typically work with teenagers and women who are going through life changes. They find themselves needing some additional help to solve problems or support to see it through.
I specialize in helping adults with anxiety, depression, post-traumatic stress, trauma, and complex trauma.
** My practice currently prioritizes clients in the Mid-Hudson Valley and those in direct service and helping professions, such as therapists, teachers, first responders, veterans, healthcare workers, and essential and frontline workers. **
I'm a trauma and EMDR therapist and LCSW licensed in New York and Connecticut, with eight years of experience rooted in crisis work. I've worked with families facing hardship and people in corporate and executive careers, and I have experience in disaster mental health and in critical incident stress management for first responders. I understand people under the highest levels of stress, both personally through my own experiences, and professionally.
I don't believe trauma has to be something we simply live with, or something that defines us. When we look at ourselves through a nervous system lens, we start to see a nervous system that adapted to survive, and one that can learn to do something new.
A self-regulation approach asks, "How do I calm myself down?" A capacity approach asks, "How can I build a nervous system that doesn't need to be calmed down every time life gets hard?" That second question is where I work. I start with the body and emotional experience before cognitive understanding, which helps us reach what's hard to put into words, leading to real shifts.
At the heart of my practice is the belief that patients deserve to be heard. I am committed to providing thoughtful, collaborative mental health care where patients feel supported, respected and empowered throughout their journey toward mental wellness. I provide psychiatric evaluations, medication management, supportive therapy and evidence-based interventions for conditions including anxiety, depression, ADHD, mood disorders, trauma related concerns and life stressors. I have ten years of experience working in the mental health field in inpatient, outpatient residential, long-term care, tele-health and community mental health settings.
