I have been practicing as a therapist for 8 years and believe that therapy should be both meaningful and practical providing a space to better understand yourself while developing tools that can make a difference in your everyday life. My experience includes working with individuals navigating stress, anxiety, trauma, life transitions, and the challenges that often come with demanding roles and responsibilities. I have also worked closely with first responders and provide clinical supervision and support to other therapists.
My approach is integrative and tailored to the individual rather than relying on a one-size-fits-all model. Depending on your needs, I may incorporate EMDR, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Emotion-Focused Therapy, mindfulness-based approaches, and trauma-informed care.
Stress management is a particular area of interest in my practice. I enjoy creating guided meditation and mindfulness experiences tailored to what a client is experiencing. I also welcome opportunities to incorporate your interests, strengths, and the things that genuinely matter to you into our work together.
Hi, I'm Amber Finck, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). I earned my bachelor's degree in Social Work from Texas Tech University in 2014 and my Master of Science in Social Work from Abilene Christian University in 2018. After relocating to northeastern North Carolina with my husband in 2022, I began my clinical social work career.
My background in social work has taken me into homes, schools, medical settings, and communities. Before becoming a therapist, I worked in family-based services with Child Protective Services, helping families develop parenting skills, navigate challenges, and access resources to keep their families together. I also developed school-based programs through Communities In Schools and coordinated community initiatives to support children and families. These experiences taught me the importance of looking beyond someone's immediate struggles to understand the relationships, experiences, and circumstances that have shaped their lives.
Today, I work with children, adolescents, and adults navigating anxiety, depression, ADHD, trauma, grief, relationship challenges, and major life transitions. I particularly enjoy helping teens and young adults build confidence, find their voice, establish healthy boundaries, and navigate the challenges of growing up and becoming independent. I also have a special interest in supporting individuals experiencing infertility, pregnancy loss, and grief.
As a Christian, my faith is an important part of who I am. I welcome incorporating Christian beliefs and values into therapy for clients who desire it, while providing a welcoming and respectful space for individuals of all faiths and backgrounds.

I began working in the mental health field in 2018 at a psychiatric hospital in Atlanta, GA, where I developed a strong foundation in supporting individuals through complex challenges. I earned my undergraduate degree from the University of North Georgia and my Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from UNC Charlotte. During graduate school, I completed an internship at Davidson College while continuing my work with children with autism.
I am now a fully licensed counselor and am grateful to have my own practice, where I strive to create a supportive, compassionate space for clients to grow and heal.
As a licensed clinical social worker, I believe that working towards solutions is key to finding happiness in life. I have been practicing for eight years mostly with children and families within the foster care system, but have recently focused on helping the adult and geriatric population who are struggling with making meaningful changes in their lives.
I believe therapy is a collaborative process built on trust and transparency. My experience working in healthcare and in larger systems has only strengthened this belief. I look forward to joining you in your journey and supporting your growth.

Factors to Consider When Choosing a Therapist in Franklin
Finding therapists in Franklin starts with knowing what kind of support fits your needs. You may be looking for help with anxiety, depression, grief, relationship challenges, life transitions, or stress. As you compare therapists, look for training and listed specialties that match what you want to focus on. A therapist’s bio can also show how they approach sessions, such as cognitive behavioral therapy, trauma-informed care, or skills-based support.
In a smaller city like Franklin, nearby in-person therapy options may be more limited than in larger North Carolina markets. Virtual therapy can expand your choices while still letting you work with a therapist licensed in North Carolina. As you narrow your search, consider appointment times, whether the therapist is accepting new clients, and whether they offer a free phone consultation. Reading profiles before booking can help you compare communication style, areas of focus, and what to expect in a first session.
Therapy in Franklin can be a significant investment without insurance. Using in-network insurance is one of the most reliable ways to reduce session costs and understand your expected out-of-pocket expense before care begins. Headway helps you search for therapists who match your preferences, see estimated costs after your insurance is verified, and book directly when you’re ready.
