I’m glad you’re here! My name is Caitlin, I have extensive clinical experience with trauma, anxiety, depression as well as working alongside law enforcement, first responders, veterans and their families. I understand that those in the helping field and those who have been designated as the helpers & problem solvers often find it difficult to seek help for themselves.
Dr. Ausi has extensive experience in complex issues ranging from trauma & multicultural issues to anxiety, depression, adjustment, grief & more. She is interactive, holistic, trauma-trained, culturally assertive & compassionate, ensuring therapy is tailored to you.
I have experience working in multiple settings with individual clients on anxiety, mood disorders, relationship difficulties, women's issues, and general mental health issues. I have a Master's degree in Rehabilitation and Mental health counseling. I am at the highest level of state licensure in Florida, Tennessee, New Jersey, and South Carolina.
I’m a warm, solution-focused, and person-centered therapist who values direct and authentic communication. My approach is grounded in respect and collaboration, working with clients to navigate challenges and build meaningful change. I specialize in supporting individuals experiencing psychosis, OCD, and autism, and also have expertise in ADHD, anxiety, depression, trauma, BPD, and suicidal ideation. I work with clients across a range of concerns, including grief, relationship struggles, men’s and women’s issues, and PTSD. My goal is to create a supportive space where you feel seen, understood, and empowered to grow.
I have a background which includes many years of Post-Graduate education, knowledge and experience providing mental health care to those who need help dealing with a wide range of mental health issues or concerns. Whether you desire improved and better quality relationships, need help with feelings, with issues of daily life, or with reaching your goals, I can help you gain emotional health - the ability to love, work and play as you wish.
I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, with over 15 years of Post-Graduate education and training in Modern Psychoanalysis at the Philadelphia School of Psychoanalysis, which allows me to listen and respond to your needs, through special understanding of unconscious processes that affect the human mind as a whole.
My specialty is in using Talk Therapy as a treatment for relieving mental and emotional distress. Whatever your diagnosis, difficulty, age, finances, or emotional needs, I help you with the process of talking to solve conflicts which block you from accomplishing what you want in life.
Throughout my career, I have been a champion of family life and have served people of every age (children, adolescent, teen, adult, and seniors) and phase (single, married, parenting, empty nester, retired, and managing chronic health diagnoses). We are wired for connection, but we experience challenges when we struggle to keep our relationships stable. Managing life can be overwhelming if we do not have the right supports in place and fail to equip ourselves with the needed tools. My goal as a therapist is to aid my clients in maintaining wellness in all areas of their life. How we think and how we feel are the greatest contributors to the reality we live. I will help you to embrace what is helping and release what no longer serves you. I am a great listener and a compassionate servant leader. I create a safe space for exploration, learning and healing.

Find the right therapist for you
Headway makes it easy to find support for your mental health — from finding the right provider, to understanding costs, to scheduling with ease.
Factors to Consider When Choosing a Therapist in New Jersey
Searching for therapists in New Jersey starts with finding the right fit for your needs, location, and schedule. Across the state, therapy options can vary between urban, suburban, and rural areas, so it helps to look for a therapist whose listed specialties match what you want support with. That may include anxiety, depression, ADHD, relationship challenges, grief, or life transitions. You can also look for training in approaches like cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, eye movement desensitization and reprocessing, or acceptance and commitment therapy.
Your search may look different in Newark, Jersey City, Trenton, South Jersey, or a smaller New Jersey community. Some people prefer an in-person therapist close to home or work, while others choose virtual sessions for more scheduling options. Beyond specialty, review whether a therapist is accepting new patients, offers appointment times that fit your calendar, and provides a free phone consultation. Reading therapist profiles can help you understand their style, areas of focus, and what a first session may include before you book.
The cost of therapy in New Jersey can vary, and using in-network insurance is one of the most reliable ways to reduce session costs. Headway helps you search for licensed therapists who are accepting new patients, see estimated out-of-pocket costs before booking, and compare virtual or in-person options in one place. Nationally, Headway partners with over 100 insurance plans, and you can enter your insurance details to confirm coverage for your specific plan and location. Browse therapists, review bios, and book directly when you’re ready.
