I began my career working with children and quickly expanded my expertise to include adults and couples. Throughout my 26 years as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, I have seen the incredible power of the human spirit to overcome trauma and unexpected life struggles. Watching my clients transition from "surviving" to "thriving" remains the most inspiring part of my work.

As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, I have spent the last eight years working with “at-risk” children and adolescents, referred by the Department of Juvenile Justice (DJJ) Diversion programs. I currently work with the Genesis Women’s Clinic assisting antepartum and postpartum moms suffering from Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorder, the Family Care Clinic providing Behavioral Therapy to families and adults, and the Pediatric Clinic at TGH Healthpark.

I received a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from Fort Lewis College, a Bachelor of Arts in Interdisciplinary Social Science from the University of South Florida, and a Master’s in Social Work (MSW) from USF. My therapeutic approach is influenced by my clinical training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing.

My intention is to provide a judgment-free space where we can talk about what is going on and collaborate to move forwards in the best way possible. I am flexible in my approach to counseling, and I tailor my counseling style based on the needs of each person I work with. I enjoy working with a wide range of clients (age, gender, concerns, etc.) and I am passionate about what I do. I am into fitness and healthy lifestyle, and I support my clients with creating their own foundation of wellness.

I am a National Board-Certified Counselor (NCC) and Licensed Professional Counselor to practice in Florida (LMHC). I obtained my PhD in Counseling at George Washington University and my master’s in clinical Mental Health at Villanova University.

I am a Catholic, bilingual, and bicultural clinical mental health counselor providing services in English and Spanish. I migrated to the United States 19 years ago as an international student. I bring a deep understanding of diverse lived experiences and the unique stressors related to acculturation and immigration. Also, I am an assistant professor, proudly teaching at the university level, to the next generation of master and doctoral students in Counseling.
