Finding the right therapist can feel overwhelming—especially if you’ve spent years feeling misunderstood, dismissed, or like you have to hide parts of yourself just to get through the day. My goal is to create a space where you can show up exactly as you are.

I specialize in working with adolescents and adults experiencing trauma, anxiety, depression, mood disorders, addiction, neurodivergence (including ADHD and autism), and LGBTQIA+ related concerns. I proudly provide neurodivergent-affirming and LGBTQIA+ affirming therapy, recognizing that many struggles come from living in environments that haven’t always been accepting, supportive, or accommodating.

My approach integrates evidence-based therapies including Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), trauma-informed therapy, psychodynamic therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and parts work/IFS-informed interventions, tailoring treatment to your individual needs rather than using a one-size-fits-all approach.I am certified in DBT & trained in EMDR through EMDRIA.

My practice is dedicated entirely to this age group because I believe early intervention and meaningful support during formative years can have a lasting, positive impact on a young person's life. I have worked with youth navigating a wide range of challenges, including anxiety, depression, ADHD, behavioral difficulties, and family, social and school-related stress. I often incorporate play therapy techniques into my work with young people, highlighting the ways that children and youth often express and process their experiences most naturally, through creativity and play. I also have a strong commitment to supporting parents as partners in the therapeutic process.

Amanda Alleyne has been a Social Worker for the last 12 years. She has extensive experience working with a diverse population of clients in various environments, including substance abuse, mental health, targeted case management, and children. Amanda also has experience working with patients and caregivers engaged in hospice and struggling with anticipatory grief. Amanda also specializes in helping loved ones cope with loss.

My interest in mental health began during my military service as a Survival Instructor in the United States Airforce. During this time, I had the privilege of teaching students from all walks of life the skills to survive in any environment. I became fascinated with human behavior, stress management/responses and the profound capabilities of the mind, body and spirit when faced with adversity. While navigating through the wilderness, a waypoint is defined as "a stop along ones journey." It is a safe place where the traveler can take shelter, rest, gain insight on where they've been, accept and honor where they are, and determine their way forward. It's a place for healing. This is what I strive to provide for my clients. I completed my Master's in Clinical Mental Health Counseling through Northwestern University. I have experience counseling couples, teens, adult individuals, and groups. As an Airforce veteran, I have a passion for serving military members and their families.
