I'm Tajsheena, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker serving TX, FL, SC and TN. I have been in practice for 13 years and have worked with various populations including active duty military, children and families in foster care, and everything in between. As a provider, I also emphasize psychoeducation and supportive interventions outside of therapy to help clients better understand themselves and practice the long-term changes they are trying to achieve.

I specialize in helping clients reconnect with the power that’s already within them. You’re in the driver’s seat, and I’m the passenger here to support, guide, and travel alongside you. With a trauma-informed and person-centered approach, I work with adults of all ages on challenges like anxiety, depression, and complex trauma. As a clinician who identifies as LGBTQIA+, I also aim to be a supportive and empowering presence for those navigating identity, belonging, and self-trust.

I specialize in working with LGBTQIA+ clients; clients who are experiencing challenges in relationships (such as w/ a partner, friends, family or coworkers); and clients who are moving through changes or transitions in life. Whether you’re navigating emerging adulthood and "adulting" for the first time, redefining a relationship, coming out, exploring spirituality, grieving a loss, adjusting to an empty nest, or learning how to show up in life as your true authentic self, I am here to walk beside you on your journey!

I have more than 30 years of experience in the behavioral health field and have been in private practice since 2003. I work with adults, older adults, adolescents, individuals, and families who are navigating anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, PTSD, grief, stress, relationship challenges, ADHD, anger, impulse control, substance use concerns, cultural or ethnic issues, and major life transitions. I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Clinical Psychology in Cuba in 1982 and later completed my Master’s degree at Florida International University in 1998. My background has shaped a warm, culturally sensitive, and practical approach to therapy.

I understand that reaching out for support can feel difficult at first. My goal is to help clients feel safe, respected, and supported as they take that courageous first step toward feeling better and becoming a healthier version of themselves.

I enjoy working with clients ages 16+, but most of my clients are 25-50. My clients come from a variety of backgrounds and careers such as educators, engineers, nurses, students, stay at home parents and those between careers.

I was born and raised in Cincinnati, OH and hold a Master degree from Xavier University. You can expect a safe and comfortable environment as we dialogue to help you sort through emotions. We may delve into your past but we won't dwell there because your energy is needed in the present moment as you look within yourself to find peace and the power to be your true self.

PLEASE NOTE: I am licensed in CO/FL/TX but accept insurance only in CO/FL/TX. Self pay option is available at $95 for in person sessions and $60 for tele-health.

I earned my Master in Science of Social Work from Columbia University in the City of New York with a focus in Advanced Clinical Practice. I have a background working with clients in urban, suburban and rural inpatient and outpatient mental health settings as well as schools and community agencies.
