I'm Magdalena, and I've been doing this work for 14 years — across schools, community
mental health, and private practice. What that span of experience gave me is range: I've
worked with people in serious crisis and people who are simply stuck, and I've learned
that the gap between those two things is smaller than most people think. I trained at
UNC Wilmington and have spent my career working with adults across the full
complexity of what life throws at people — anxiety, depression, trauma, ADHD, parenting,
major life transitions, and identity. I offer therapy in both English and Polish, and I'm
LGBTQ+-affirming. I accept insurance and offer a sliding scale. My goal isn't to be your
therapist forever — it's to give you what you need so you can get on with your life.
A significant portion of my work is facillitating change and helping clients gain more self awareness to address the problems in their lives that are bringing them to therapy. I've been a therapist since 2012. Time sure does fly. I started my career with the Department of Veteran Affairs and continued to work with veterans and their families for a significant portion of my career. I have since branched out into private practice. I specialize in supporting clients with post-traumatic stress, anxiety, panic attacks, relationship problems, and family issues. I am trained in multiple evidence based therapies to help clients address their concerns and reach their goals. My approach is dependent on the problems or issues that we focus on for therapy. I am client-centered in my approach and strive to create a therapeutic environment and relationship that is founded in trust, genuineness and positive regard. I work closely with clients to help them connect with their values to gain insight, understanding and self-compassion.
Additionally, I have about 9 years of couples therapy under my belt. I primarily use EFT for couples, which focuses on helping the couple identify and change their conflict cycle, as well as strengthening the relationship bond. I also utilize some Gottman principles to help couples to develop healthy relationship habits.
I also work with a number of clients individually who seek out extra support to improve their relationship with their partner. Having skills in couples therapy and understanding conflict dynamics is really helpful to assist clients on a 1-1 basis to improve their relationship.

Hi, I’m Roman, a Licensed Professional Counselor in Connecticut with eight years of clinical experience in the United States and Latin America. I support people from many backgrounds who are navigating trauma, domestic violence, anxiety, depression, abuse, narcissistic abuse, ADHD, and immigration-related challenges. These experiences have deepened my understanding of how relationships, culture, and environment can shape the way we see ourselves and the world. The most common feedback I get from clients is that I am relatable, caring, and easy to talk to. I treat people like real people, not just a list of symptoms or problems. Building a strong, trusting connection is an important part of the process that I take very seriously, aiming to engage in co-created, and transparent collaboration with my clients.
In therapy with me you will find that I emphasize acceptance of emotions, reframing negative thinking, and offering self-grace. I try to help you dig deeper to get the root issue that is causing you to be different than the way you want to be.
We are talking about you and your life, things that matter so I am open and non-judging, relaxed, and very real.

I am Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with over 29 years of experience supporting people through life’s challenges and transitions. Over the years, I have worked in schools, community programs, and private practice, and each setting has strengthened my belief in the resilience people carry, sometimes without even realizing it.
