My roots are in Scranton, Pennsylvania; growing up, life was challenging and unpredictable for me and my sisters. My husband and I moved to the Tahoe/Truckee area together in the early 1990s, pursuing seasonal employment. Our son and a daughter both grew up enjoyed attending local public schools in Truckee, and later the Univeristy of California; they are both living fulfilling adult lives in the nearby region.
Hello, I’m Charles, a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) dedicated to helping adults build healthier, more fulfilling lives. I work with individuals and couples facing anxiety, depression, trauma, PTSD, grief, relationship difficulties, self-esteem concerns, and major life transitions. My approach is compassionate, collaborative, and grounded in trauma-informed care. Some seasons of life ask more of you than you ever expected, and somewhere along the way you stopped feeling like yourself. I work with teens, parents, and adults who are moving through anxiety, depression, grief, relationship strain, and the heavy stretches that come with big life transitions. I care deeply about supporting LGBTQIA+ and transgender clients, and families who want to understand and show up for one another a little better. So much of this work is simply remembering that you do not have to carry any of it alone.
I highlight your strengths in our sessions. Just think of me as your emotional cheerleader. I want the best for you, whatever that may be.
I am a licensed clinical psychologist with a doctorate in clinical psychology and more than twenty years of experience. My doctoral training was completed at an APA-accredited program, and I have spent my career helping people through high-pressure seasons of life.
I work primarily with adults and busy professionals, often the ones others rely on. Many of my clients look like they have it handled while quietly carrying anxiety, stress, burnout, or an exhaustion they have learned to push through. I also work with clients navigating life and career transitions and those healing from trauma. What people tell me they appreciate most is that I am warm and direct at the same time.

My therapeutic approach is integrated and tailored to meet your unique needs. I often draw from Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Motivational interviewing.
I believe that true healing begins when you feel deeply seen and heard for who you truly are. My goal is to create a warm, engaging space where we can explore your story together, looking beyond just your symptoms to understand you as a whole person.
Some of the hardest moments in life are invisible. The world doesn't always know what to say, how to respond, or awareness something even happened. Perinatal mental health lives in that space: the longing, the loss, the love tangled up with overwhelm. Whatever you are carrying that led you here, know it is real, it matters, and you do not have to navigate it alone.
I'm Salvina, an LPCC specializing in perinatal mental health, with a foundation in early childhood mental health and family counseling. I work with individuals and couples navigating infertility, miscarriage, pregnancy, child loss, the transition into parenthood, postpartum anxiety, and postpartum depression. I'm certified in Motivational Interviewing, trained in Gottman Therapy, and currently completing my Perinatal Mental Health Certification (PMH-C) through Postpartum Support International. I've been practicing full-time for almost four years.
