I'm Rachael Colley, a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner focused on psychiatric medication management with a practical, skills-based approach. My path ran through teaching and nursing before prescribing, so explaining things in plain language comes naturally, and I care about what works in your real life, not just what looks good on paper.
Who I work with I see adults, teens, and children, with particular depth in ADHD, anxiety, depression, mood disorders, perinatal and postpartum mental health, and binge eating disorder. I provide neurodiversity-affirming care and have a strong interest in supporting people navigating a late diagnosis, both the relief of finally having answers and the practical work of figuring out what comes next.
I offer early morning, evening, and weekend appointments across Arizona.
My practice is able to see clients for most mental health diagnoses, utilizing most modalities. I specialize in the treatment of addictions and trauma and my experience in these areas is vast. I most enjoy utilizing IFS, EMDR, and AEPD to address these issues. I am EMDRIA certified in EMDR and IFS level I trained.
My clients tend to desire greater embodiment, self and relational connection, and healing. Many want to strengthen self-trust, grow relational skills, and navigate life transitions. Those drawn to my practice tend to be healers and care workers, creatives, educators, entrepreneurs, and changemakers. As an individual and couples therapist, I often work with people desiring more or different out of their relationships, as well as clients looking for support related to sex, sexuality, and trauma.
I believe anyone can live a meaningful and fulfilling life and that we all can change and grow even in the most challenging times. For over twenty years, I have worked with Adults, Couples, Teens/Children, and families from a diverse population, helping clients change problematic behaviors and thinking patterns to achieve wellness and growth.
Healing isn't about fixing what's broken; it's about understanding how your mind and body adapted to survive and discovering new ways to thrive.
I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor in Arizona specializing in trauma, attachment, anxiety, depression, substance use, relationship patterns, and nervous system healing. I hold a Master's degree in Clinical Psychology and am currently completing my PhD in Transpersonal Psychology. My doctoral research explores the lived experience of healing developmental trauma through attachment repair, somatic integration, inner-child healing, and innate healing processes that support lasting transformation.
Many people come to therapy believing they're broken, when in reality they're living with nervous systems that adapted to survive difficult experiences. I believe healing begins by understanding those protective patterns with compassion and helping them soften so you can live with greater freedom, connection, and authenticity.
Whether you're navigating the effects of childhood trauma, painful relationships, chronic stress, grief, or recovery from substance use, therapy can help you understand the patterns that once protected you while creating new ones that support a more fulfilling life.
My approach is warm, collaborative, and grounded in both research and experience. I integrate Somatic Experiencing, attachment-based therapy, mindfulness, parts work, and evidence-informed trauma treatment to help clients move beyond insight into meaningful, embodied healing. My work focuses not only on understanding your story, but also on helping your nervous system experience safety, connection, and lasting change.
If you've always been the one holding everything together while quietly struggling on the inside, you don't have to do it alone. Together, we'll build greater resilience, self-compassion, healthier relationships, and a deeper connection with the person you want to become.
