I am passionate about helping adolescents and adults navigate their mental health journey. I am a trauma informed therapist and I have experience working with PTSD, depression, anxiety, grief, bipolar, narcissistic abuse survivors and those wanting to work on coping better with life stressors. With over 20 years in healthcare and working as a Family Nurse Practitioner, the desire to treat patients better as a “whole” combined with the COVID pandemic of 2020 nearly caused me to stop providing care entirely. Essentially, I was fed up with the medical care being offered to many. Instead of walking away from patient care, I chose a different path. My focus shifted to treating the mental health of the patients & families I have compassionately taken care of in the past,

I strive to create a safe and collaborative space where we can work together to help you achieve your goals. I recognize the importance of treating both the mind and body and uses a systemic approach throughout the therapeutic process. I work towards helping individuals shift their focus from the past to the present and reclaim their personal power.

You may look like you are holding everything together while feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or exhausted underneath. I work with adults navigating trauma and PTSD, anxiety, depression, substance use and recovery, co-occurring concerns, and difficult life transitions.

With 19 years of behavioral health experience, I bring extensive experience in addiction and recovery and am trained in EMDR through the Francine Shapiro EMDR Institute. I understand that people are more than a diagnosis and that the ways we learn to cope often make sense in the context of what we have lived through—even when those same patterns are no longer helping us today.

My style is warm, genuine, and direct. I offer a nonjudgmental space where you can feel heard while also doing meaningful work toward change. I do not believe in a one-size-fits-all approach, and I tailor therapy to your needs, goals, strengths, and readiness.

I treat many issues but specialize in trauma, grief, comorbidities, end of life, identity challenges, couples, polyamory/ENM, anxiety, depression and am focused on helping you thrive!

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor, holding a Master of Science in Professional Counseling from Grand Canyon University. Kelly Maurer is Double Board Certified in Psychiatric Mental Health NP as well as Family Medicine with a Special Interest in Addiction Medicine. She sees 12 -75 yrs of age with > 35 years of medical experience; she diagnoses & provides medication management, and talk therapy appointments. In unison or separately.

She is gifted with developing an easy rapport with her patients which allows for healing & Hope to happen.

She completed her Graduate Degree at Arizona State University as a FNP in 2006, & obtained her Psychiatric Mental Health post master’s at Rocky Mountain University. She has 37 plus years of medical experience and therefore has a gift to see the bigger picture and connecting with her patients.

My approach to care integrates psychotherapy with medication management. I provide therapy for patients whose psychiatric medications I also manage, allowing for a coordinated and personalized treatment plan that supports both emotional and medical aspects of mental health.

With over 20 years of experience as a Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner and now as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner, I am deeply committed to delivering compassionate, comprehensive care tailored to each individual’s unique needs. My approach integrates physical and mental health to support the whole person.
