I am a native to the Hampton Roads area specializing in children, teens and families. One of the most important aspects of therapy is the ability to truly listen and connect with clients. I offer a range of therapeutic options that will allow a deeper sense of self and connection with others.
I believe the most effective care comes from a strong, collaborative partnership. I approach each person as more than a diagnosis, and I value honesty, accountability, and mutual respect in the work we do together. Change is possible—I’ve seen it firsthand—and I’m here to support you in becoming the version of yourself you want to be. My background includes both a Bachelor’s and Master’s in Nursing from Walsh University, and I bring that clinical foundation into thoughtful, individualized care.
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and Certified Clinical Trauma Professional
(CCTP) providing outpatient therapy for adults. For more than 22 years, I have been dedicated to
supporting individuals from diverse backgrounds, including those facing complex life
challenges, trauma, ADHD, substance use, military-related challenges, women’s health issues,
legal system involvement, and severe mental health concerns.
I am a "pattern based" clinician who specializes in helping my clients identify negative patterns in their life. Once negative patterns have been identified, we will work together to replace negative patterns with healthier skills. I am also a core driven clinician who specializes in identifying the root of a problem. I believe once the root of the problem is discovered, we can process it and find positive strategies to heal through the painful core issue.
Nobody exists in a vacuum. Although life can be isolating, you don’t have to do it alone. There is great power in showing up as yourself and connecting with a fellow human being. Like you, I am human! I’m a woman, a wife, a mother, an immigrant, a person of faith, and a therapist. Being a therapist is one of my highest callings. And I do it by being 100% me so you can have space to be unapologetically you. And as a result, find beauty and meaning as you wrestle in your process, even if it hurts.
I have over 10 years of experience in a wide variety of clinical settings since obtaining my Master's degree and becoming a licensed clinician. I use a client centered approach that draws from my training in cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, dialectical behavioral therapy, exposure and response prevention, and a trauma-informed approach. I have worked with people struggling with addictions, a wide variety of anxiety related difficulties, ADHD, depression, and some bodily focused repetitive behaviors. I also have experience working with couples to address relationship needs.
I’ve been a practicing clinical psychologist for 40 years. Over the course of my career, I’ve had the privilege of working with many different types of people, including those navigating PTSD, bipolar disorder, anxiety, eating disorders, veterans’ issues, parenting challenges, life transitions, and women’s issues. I’ve worked in private practice, counseling centers, nursing homes, inpatient treatment, and equine therapy, which has given me broad experience supporting clients across many settings and stages of life.
