From my background in early childhood education, to my master's in counseling from the University of North Texas, from an internship with an addiction-focused residential site to EMDR training to clinical leadership in a partial hospitalization program, I use my wide breadth of experience to inform my practice.

I understand that seeking support takes courage, and I work to create a space where clients feel heard, understood, and supported throughout the process.

I earned a Master of Social Work (MSW) and PhD from Tulane University, as well as a Master of Public Health (MPH) from Tulane University’s School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in Louisiana and Texas, and a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) in Minnesota. I also hold a Licensed Addiction Counselor (LAC), Licensed Prevention Professional (LPP), and Certified Employee Assistance Professional (CEAP).

Amara is a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner who works with children, teens, and adults. She provides care for concerns such as anxiety, depression, ADHD, insomnia, and other mental health needs. She has a background in psychiatric nursing and believes good mental health care starts with feeling heard, understood, and comfortable with your provider.
