With more than 20 years of experience in patient care, I have worked extensively in diverse healthcare settings, gaining deep insight into both mental and physical health. I am board-certified in psychiatric mental health, medical-surgical, and critical care nursing, bringing a well-rounded perspective to patient care.

My academic background includes a Master of Science in Mental Health and a Bachelor’s in Nursing and Biology. I was honored to receive the Excellence in Nursing Award from the Good Samaritan Foundation of Texas, a recognition of my dedication to compassionate and high-quality care.

As a Licensed Professional Counselor in Texas with eight years of experience, I am dedicated to supporting individuals as they navigate their path toward recovery and growth. I specialize in trauma treatment and work with clients of all ages - children, teens, and adults. I have a particular passion for supporting survivors of abuse and trauma. Using evidence-based approaches including EMDR, Play Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), I tailor every treatment plan to meet your unique needs. For those who desire it, I am also open to thoughtfully integrating spirituality into the therapeutic process.

I received both my Bachelors and Masters in Social Work from the University of Texas at Austin. I have been in private practice for more than 10 years. Prior to private practice, my career began as an inpatient therapist on locked units at psychiatric facilities Cambridge Hospital (currently Sun Behavioral Hospital) and West Oaks Hospital. In addition to my inpatient work at West Oaks Hospital, I was a group facilitator with both adolescents and adults for the outpatient extension of the hospital: The Excel Center. My work at The Excel Center involved daily group therapy in both the Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) and Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP).

Because of my work with the acute psychiatric population in intensive treatment settings, I am able to work as a generalist practitioner. I work with most issue from depression, anxiety, and OCD to trauma, addiction and relationships struggles... just to name a few.

Dr. Adolf Malik, DNP, APRN, completed his master’s degree at the University of North Carolina in Greensboro, followed by a post-master’s and a doctoral degree in nursing practice at Winston-Salem State University, NC. He also completed a post-doctoral degree in psychiatric mental health practice at Frontier Nursing University. He is board-certified in Adult, Child, and Adolescent Psychiatry; a Family Nurse Practitioner, a DOT Medical Examiner, and a SAMHSA (X-Waiver) addiction provider.

Some of the hardest seasons people walk through happen around the arrival of new life, the slow unraveling of a relationship, or the quiet grip of something they have never said out loud. I work across all of those seasons as a Licensed Professional Counselor serving children, adolescents, and adults.
