My career began in 1997 as an AmeriCorps member working in harm reduction during the peak of new HIV infections. Since then, I've held many roles as a proud social worker. I have been a therapist for 18 years, with extensive training & experience in harm reduction therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Cognitive Processing Therapy for PTSD. My background includes earning a Ph.D. from the University of California, Berkeley, along with a lifelong appreciation for personal growth, nature, and the healing power of connection. Growing up learning to surf fostered a deep respect for the ocean and the lessons it offers about resilience, balance, and adapting to life's changing conditions. These experiences have shaped my belief in the importance of honoring each individual’s journey and recognizing that growth often comes through both challenge and reflection.

My name is Christine Keanu and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). I earned my Master of Social Work Degree from the University of Hawaii at Manoa. I have a professional background working with children, families, and individuals involved in a wide range of social service systems. My work has included supporting clients through complex life experiences, stressors, and transitions, often in settings where safety, trust and consistency are especially important.
