My goal is to create an affirming, compassionate environment where you can show up as you are and begin making sense of what you’re carrying.
My individual work helps you build on your strengths while you gain a healthier perspective on what you may currently perceive as weaknesses. I want to help you understand and appreciate the unique combination of gifts you have to draw on. My goal is to help you find more meaningful and fulfilling ways to negotiate your life's path. Thank you for taking the courageous step to reach out for help. I would be honored to work along side you on your journey towards personal growth and empowerment. I have over 28 years of experience in working in mental health. My experience includes private practice, Equine-Assisted Psychotherapy, nonprofit, domestic violence, and substance abuse. I also spent 21 years in public education as a teacher, school counselor, and therapeutic counselor.
What truly sets me apart is my calm, compassionate, and nonjudgmental approach. I believe in meeting every individual exactly where they are, creating a safe and affirming space for open, honest communication. Together, we’ll build a collaborative relationship where goals, preferences, and values guide every step of your care. I am committed to providing stigma-free care; including those navigating challenges related to neurodivergence, substance use, trauma, identity or difficult past experiences. Everyone deserves to be seen, heard, and respected without fear of shame or judgment.
I specialize in helping adults navigate challenges related to depression, anxiety, and life transitions. My therapeutic approach is rooted in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, and Mindfulness techniques to support clients in building coping skills, emotional balance, and self-awareness. I am known for my empathetic nature, active listening skills, and patient approach, creating a safe and supportive environment where clients can feel heard and understood. I believe in meeting clients where they are and working collaboratively toward meaningful and lasting change. To accommodate busy schedules, I offer flexible appointment times, including evenings and weekends.
I attended Hardin-Simmons University in Abilene Texas and received my Master's in Family Psychology. After many years of work in a non profit adoption agency and in several psychiatric hospitals, I found my passion lies in working with individuals that want to explore their past to inform their current functioning. Although the hot "it" therapies offer quick fixes, I believe you must first understand yourself before you can understand the root of your issues.
Whether you're coping with the loss of a loved one, managing the emotional impact of a chronic illness, healing from past experiences, or feeling overwhelmed by anxiety, I strive to provide thoughtful, evidence-based care tailored to your unique needs. As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Texas, I believe therapy is most effective when you feel genuinely seen, heard, and accepted. I provide a warm, compassionate, and nonjudgmental space where you can explore life's challenges at your own pace. I specialize in working with adults experiencing grief and bereavement, anxiety, trauma, relationship concerns, chronic health conditions, and major life transitions.
In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my husband and two kids, working out, and reading psychological thrillers!
If you or your teen are carrying something heavy — trauma that keeps showing up, anxiety that won't settle, or a life that's shifted in ways that are hard to name — I'm here to help. I'm a bilingual, Spanish-speaking LPC in Texas with 3 years of clinical experience. I'm trained in EMDR therapy and specialize in trauma, emotional regulation, and life transitions. I work with adolescents ages 11–17 and adults, and I believe therapy is a space to work toward your most authentic self. I believe healing is possible when people are given a safe space to be seen, heard, and understood. Over time, I realized that many of the struggles people experience are often rooted in experiences that were never fully processed.
It's time to put yourself first, and I'm here to help you do that. With my experience working with adults from a diverse population, I understand how difficult it is to prioritize yourself in life which can lead to depression, anxiety, emotional distress, and unnecessary stress.
Prisca Oketch, APRN, PMHNP-BC, with over 17 years of dedicated clinical experience, specializes in comprehensive mental health treatment.
