I am a husband, a father of two adult children, and a corgi dad. I am not a true Mainer as I moved here about 4 years ago from Pennsylvania where I spent most of my life. But, I have adopted Maine as my own. I love the outdoors and spend as much time as I can in them.
As far as the more formal stuff, I spent a lot of time in school. My credentials include a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Ursinus College, a Masters of Education in Counseling from Rutgers University, an Executive Masters of Business Administration in Healthcare Administration from California Pacific University, a Masters and Doctorate in Clinical Psychology and a Juris Doctorate in Law all from Widener University.
I have 20+ years management experience in behavioral health, managed care, academia and private practice settings. I have run my private practice for more than 30 years, have been a program administrator, corporate compliance/privacy officer, clinical director, program chairperson, and director of quality management during my career. I have taught at more than 20 colleges and universities. I have advised, supervised, trained, and taught hundreds of graduate students and professional counselors. I have also presented at many state, regional and national conferences and provided numerous trainings to social service and criminal justice professionals.
I am a National Board Certified Counselor (NBCC) licensed in New York, Pennsylvania, and Virginia, providing therapy to adults residing in those states.
I was drawn to being a therapist through my own personal experiences and understanding the value of having a safe space to process my emotions. I truly enjoy being able to help others and consider it a privilege to support others to reach their potential.
I work with individuals navigating anxiety, depression, health-related stress, grief, self-esteem, stress management and significant life transitions. Starting therapy can feel overwhelming, but it does not have to be. My goal is to create a space where you feel comfortable, understood, and supported from the very first session. I have several years of experience providing family therapy and working with individuals facing anxiety, stress, relationship challenges, family conflict, and life transitions. I have over 10 years of experience in a wide variety of clinical settings since obtaining my Master's degree and becoming a licensed clinician. I use a client centered approach that draws from my training in cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, dialectical behavioral therapy, exposure and response prevention, and a trauma-informed approach. I have worked with people struggling with addictions, a wide variety of anxiety related difficulties, ADHD, depression, and some bodily focused repetitive behaviors. I also have experience working with couples to address relationship needs.
Currently accepting summer 2026 clients for short-term therapy. Some availability for longer term clients.
I want to make the task of being human a little bit easier. That's it. That's the whole goal.
I trained in Gestalt therapy through a three-year program, Nonviolent Communication, and improvisational comedy and performance — not because they're quirky credentials, but because they each taught me something real about how people change, connect, and find themselves. I also bring a background in alternative education and hold social location (race, gender, class, dis/ability) as foundational to understanding how we experience the world.
I specialize in trauma, grief, LGBTQIA+ identity, gender dysphoria, maternal mental health, anxiety, and the work of becoming more fully yourself. Here and Wow Therapy is a space where that work is taken seriously — and can occasionally be a little fun.
