I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Addiction Specialist — and this work is not just my profession, it is my calling. I specialize in supporting individuals navigating substance and behavioral addictions, and I also hold space for something that often goes unaddressed: the family members of addicted loved ones, who carry their own profound pain and deserve their own healing. I am trained in EMDR, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Relapse Prevention, and Self-Compassion practices. But beyond the credentials, here is what I want you to know about me: I believe that therapy is about walking beside you — not directing you, not fixing you — with the quiet understanding that we are all, in our own way, walking one another home. That belief shapes everything about how I show up for my clients.
I earned my Masters in Social Work, and am licensed as a Clinical Social Worker. I also earned a Masters in Science in Hospice and Palliative Studies. Factors to Consider When Choosing a Therapist in Cornelius
Finding the right therapist in Cornelius, NC starts with getting clear on what you're looking for. Consider whether you want help with a specific concern — such as anxiety, depression, relationship stress, or a life transition — or whether you're looking for more general support. From there, look for a licensed provider (such as an LCMHC, LCSW, psychologist, or psychiatrist) who has experience in that area. Reading a provider's bio can help you understand their approach and decide if they feel like a good fit before you book.
Cornelius is part of the larger Lake Norman and Charlotte metro area, which means you have access to providers based locally as well as those in nearby towns like Davidson, Huntersville, and Mooresville. Many therapists in this area offer both in-person and virtual sessions, giving you more flexibility with scheduling. If virtual care works better for your routine, you can connect with any provider licensed in North Carolina from wherever you are in the state.
Therapy in the Charlotte metro area can be expensive out of pocket, but using your in-network insurance benefits is one of the most straightforward ways to lower your costs. On Headway, you can enter your insurance details to see estimated session costs before you book. Nationally, Headway partners with over 100 insurance plans, and many patients pay as low as $0 per visit. That makes it easier to find a provider who is both the right clinical fit and covered by your plan.
