Faith and spirituality are unique to each individual; it is YOUR choice whether to receive secular or Faith-based counseling. I also use animal-assisted therapy! I have helped clients with family conflicts, trauma, abuse, motivation, self-esteem, & depression. I also have extensive experience working with couples, teens, and the aging. Dr. Brutus is a licensed mental health provider and Certified Mental Performance Consultant (CMPC) in the field of Sport and Performance Psychology who works at the intersection of mental health, sport, and leadership performance. She supports high-achievers—including athletes, professionals, and leaders—who are navigating pressure, identity, performance demands, and life transitions.

In addition to therapy services covered by insurance, Dr. Brutus also provides mental performance consulting leveraging her specialty training in sport psychology, which focuses on optimizing performance in sport, business, and leadership settings. This work is not covered by insurance and is typically more goal-oriented and performance-driven.

Dr. Brutus is known for her warm, direct, and empowering style. She creates a space where clients feel supported while also being challenged to grow. Whether clients are seeking mental health support, performance enhancement, or both, her goal is to help them build clarity, resilience, and confidence across all areas of life.

With my education and experience; both personal and professionally, I am able to connect and provide care to a diverse group of people of all ages. I am a mother of four grown children and have ten grandchildren. I've experienced loss, hardship, as well as healing. I enjoy helping others reach their full potential and live his or her best life.

I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with a Masters in Clinical Psychology. For ten years I have provided individual, family, and group therapy in hospital settings, residential treatment centers, and outpatient treatment centers.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of Mississippi and the state of Michigan.

I received my bachelor’s degree from the University of Mississippi (Hotty Toddy!) and my Master of Arts in Counseling from Reformed Theological Seminary. Before moving to Jackson, Miss. for graduate school, I worked with Cru (a campus ministry) for three years on the Ole Miss campus.

While living in Oxford, I also worked as the Administrative Assistant at Grace Bible Church of Oxford for two years.

Through receiving counseling in my own life, my desire grew to sit with and serve those experiencing darkness, hardship, or hurt in their own life. I want to utilize my life experience and education to walk alongside my clients as they uncover and develop their own internal resources.

I have been a LPC for over 10 years and have worked with a very diverse group of clients. They range in age from 6 to 60. I specialize in adolescents and trauma. I have also worked with depression, anxiety, personal relationships, parenting problems, addictions, emotional abuse, and physical trauma.
