Hi. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. These are challenging times and I would love to be of support in helping you cope with anxiety, stress management, and life transitions. Building a trusting and supportive relationship is a primary component of my therapeutic practice and can be done using Tele Health video sessions from home. When making life decisions regarding how to best move forward, it can be extremely helpful to get an impartial, outside perspective. I have over four decades of experience in working with individuals, couples, and families and am accepting new clients at this time.
Starting therapy can feel vulnerable, and finding the right therapist matters. My goal is to create a safe and supportive space where you feel heard, respected, and understood.
I am a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner and a graduate of Frontier Nursing University, with over 11 years of nursing experience and one year of advanced clinical training across outpatient psychiatry, crisis stabilization, inpatient detoxification, skilled nursing facilities, and telehealth. I provide evidence-based psychiatric evaluation, medication management, and psychotherapy for children, adolescents, and adults with ADHD, anxiety, depression, bipolar and mood disorders, trauma-related conditions, substance use disorders, and psychotic disorders, including complex and co-occurring presentations. My clinical background includes crisis intervention, suicide risk assessment, stabilization, and long-term outpatient care focused on functional improvement and sustained recovery.
I have worked in the mental health field for over 15 years and have been a licensed mental health counselor and Doctor of Clinical Psychology for 12 years. Additionally, I have collaborated with clients of all ages, cultures, Nationalities and from all social classes dealing with a wide range of issues. My experience is vast as I have worked with the following: neuro-psychiatric, suicidal ideation/attempts, LGBTQIA, PTSD, anger management, grief/loss, trauma, abuse, relationship issues, school counseling, juvenile justice, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, borderline personality disorder, depression, personality disorders, domestic violence, crisis intervention, codependency, and group/family/individual therapy.
I am passionate about serving people helping to rebuild trust, restore relationships, and move beyond struggles with trauma, addiction, intimacy, depression and brokenness.
Are you tired of feeling anxious, unseen, or not quite enough? Do certain relationships in your life feel harder than they should — with a boss, a friend, a parent, a partner? So many of us find ourselves replaying the same painful patterns, wondering why connection feels so complicated, when the real story is much older than the relationship we're in now.
I'm Dr. Michelle Morrell, a clinical psychologist (Psy.D. from Adler University, with a pre-doctoral internship at the Hawai'i Psychological Internship Consortium, a post-doctoral fellowship at Hawai'i's Department of Health, and training through Rush Medical's NeuroBehavioral Center and the Family Institute at Northwestern University). I work exclusively with women, and I've built my practice around a simple belief: the patterns that shape our hardest relationships — whether with a partner, a parent, a friend, or a boss — usually started somewhere much earlier than the relationship in front of us. Helping women trace those patterns back and build something different is the work I care about most — healing the wound creating the pain, rather than simply bandaging the symptoms it causes.
