I am passionate about serving people helping to rebuild trust, restore relationships, and move beyond struggles with trauma, addiction, intimacy, depression and brokenness.
I have over 30 years of clinical, counseling and administrative experience working with individuals and couples, addressing the unique issues related to their unique life experiences. I have extensive professional and personal experience with military families and veterans. I understand first-hand the struggles of grief and medical conditions that impact all aspects of life. I have supported chronically and terminally ill patients, individuals living with cancer or chronic medical diagnoses, as well as parents experiencing infertility, peripartum, and postpartum depression. Whether dealing with life transitions, parenting, depression, anxiety, or divorce, or simply seeking to express yourself and feel more confident, I am here to walk with you, provide insights, and support you toward lasting change.
It's not easy starting therapy and investing time in yourself, but you've already done the first step! My experience has primarily been focused in clients with eating disorders and co-occurring diagnoses. With that said, I also have extensive experience working with relationship challenges, anxiety, self-harm, and suicidality. I generally like to pull from my knowledge of various therapy modalities such as DBT, CBT, FBT and EFFT. I also really enjoy self-compassion work. Your goals are always my top priority, and I am here to support you every step of the way.
Outside of work, I enjoy live music, spending time with friends, and hanging out with my dogs, Nala and Toni. These personal interests help me stay grounded and bring balance to my life, which I believe is crucial for overall well-being.
If you're ready to take the next step, I'm here to help you navigate your journey towards healing and growth. Let's work together to achieve your goals!
I find my most fulfilling times are assisting others in seeing how they are growing and impacting others around them. I am known for being a calm and grounding presence in sessions.
I am a licensed psychologist, educator, and researcher dedicated to helping individuals navigate life's challenges while building a stronger connection to themselves and their values. My professional background includes working in healthcare, higher education, community mental health, and veteran settings, giving me experience supporting clients from diverse cultural, racial, gender, and sexual identity backgrounds.
I specialize in working with anxiety, depression, trauma, life transitions, relationship concerns, identity exploration, and issues affecting LGBTQIA+ individuals. My research and clinical work have focused on understanding how culture, identity, and lived experiences shape mental health and well-being.
I believe therapy should be a space where you feel seen, respected, and empowered. Whether you're navigating a difficult transition, healing from past experiences, exploring your identity, or seeking greater fulfillment in your relationships and daily life, I strive to provide a supportive environment where meaningful growth can occur.
My communication style is nonjudgmental, authentic, and grounded in honesty, empathy, and respect. I believe that meaningful therapeutic work happens when clients feel safe enough to be themselves and know they will be met with understanding rather than criticism. My goal is to create a space where you can openly explore your thoughts, emotions, and experiences while feeling genuinely supported throughout the process.
I take a holistic approach to therapy and believe it is important to understand the whole person, not just the challenges that bring them to treatment. Together, we may explore areas such as work-life balance, childhood experiences, relationships, physical health and well-being, cultural influences, personal values, and future goals. By considering the many factors that shape your life, we can develop a deeper understanding of your experiences and create a path toward meaningful, lasting growth.
I strive to balance compassion with honesty, offering both support and thoughtful feedback when appropriate. My goal is to help you gain insight, strengthen self-awareness, and make choices that align with the life you want to create.

My background includes earning a Ph.D. from the University of California, Berkeley, along with a lifelong appreciation for personal growth, nature, and the healing power of connection. Growing up learning to surf fostered a deep respect for the ocean and the lessons it offers about resilience, balance, and adapting to life's changing conditions. These experiences have shaped my belief in the importance of honoring each individual’s journey and recognizing that growth often comes through both challenge and reflection.
I support children, teens, adults, and families across Hawaiʻi with integrative psychiatry that honors the whole person. I work with people navigating anxiety, mood changes, attention and neurodevelopmental differences, and life transitions, and I welcome those seeking care that feels thoughtful, collaborative, and grounded. My approach combines traditional psychiatric care with evidence-based holistic support, with attention to symptoms, root causes, and overall well-being. I’m dedicated to serving individuals across Oʻahu, Lānaʻi, Kauaʻi, Maui, Molokaʻi, and the Island of Hawaiʻi. I want visits to feel warm, clear, and empowering.
I currently accept individual adult clients only through Headway. I do not provide couples or family therapy through this platform at this time.
I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who works with individuals, couples, and LGBTQ+ clients seeking deeper self-understanding, emotional healing, and more connected relationships. My approach is warm, relational, trauma-informed, and grounded in the belief that healing happens through safety, honesty, and meaningful connection.
I specialize in relationship therapy, anxiety, depression, identity exploration, attachment wounds, complex trauma, and psychedelic assisted psychotherapy. I also support clients navigating life transitions, grief, shame, self-worth, communication challenges, and patterns that keep them feeling stuck or disconnected from themselves and others.
My work draws from Emotionally Focused Therapy, the Gottman Method, Internal Family Systems, somatic awareness, humanistic and existential therapy, and trauma-informed care. I help clients slow down, listen inward, understand their patterns, and develop more compassionate and empowered ways of relating.
As a queer-affirming therapist, I am especially passionate about supporting LGBTQ+ clients and relationships. I strive to create a space where clients can bring their full selves—without judgment—and explore healing in a way that honors their identities, histories, relationships, spirituality, and lived experience.
I've always been interested in the mental health field, which led me to determine my path in my college education. I have a Master's Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I became licensed in the State of Hawai'i as a mental health counselor and a nationally certified counselor from the National Board of Certified Counseling. I specialize working with those who experience anxiety, depression, adjustment/transition issues; and those in need of stress management and anger management.

Find the right counselor for your family
Headway makes it easier to find family-focused support — from finding the right provider, to understanding costs, to scheduling with ease.
Factors to Consider When Choosing a Family Therapist in Honolulu, HI
Finding family therapists in Honolulu starts with understanding what your family wants to work on together. Family therapy can support parenting conflict, adolescent concerns, blended family dynamics, caregiving stress, and communication across generations. Family therapists are trained to look at patterns between family members, rather than focusing only on one person. As you compare therapists, look for listed experience with family systems, parent-child relationships, life transitions, or cultural and intergenerational concerns that match your needs.
In Honolulu and across Oahu, the right therapist also needs to fit your location, schedule, and preferred appointment format. In-person sessions may work well if you want a shared space outside the home, while virtual appointments can make it easier to include family members in different places. Family therapy may involve the full family, a few family members, or individual sessions at different points in care. Before booking, read therapist bios for details on session structure, availability, communication style, and whether they offer a free phone consultation.
Family therapy in Honolulu can be a significant investment without insurance. Using in-network insurance is one of the most reliable ways to reduce session costs. Nationally, Headway partners with a wide range of insurance plans, and you can enter your insurance details on Headway to confirm coverage in Honolulu, see which therapists are accepting new patients, and view upfront cost estimates. You can compare therapists, review bios, and book directly when you’re ready.
If anyone in your family is experiencing or worried about abuse, threats, or coercion, joint family or couples therapy usually isn't the right starting point — individual support is safer. The Childhelp National Child Abuse Hotline (1-800-422-4453) and National Domestic Violence Hotline (1-800-799-7233, or text START to 88788\) can help you think through next steps.
