I have 12 years’ experience counseling all backgrounds and ages including men, women, mothers, professionals, veterans, and teens who have dealt with anxiety, depression, addiction, family and career issues, etc. My clients often tell me that I have a unique way of explaining ideas and perspectives to them that makes it easy for them to understand and apply.
Welcome! If this is your first stop in deciding whether therapy is right for you, congratulations. I know it can be incredibly difficult to take the first step towards finding a therapist who is the right fit for you. As a therapist, my primary goal is for you to feel seen, heard, and understood. I view therapy as a cooperative space between us. You are the expert of your life, and my job is to ask the right questions to bring clarity, direction, and self-compassion. Sometimes, this looks like sitting in silence together. Other times, it looks like a gentle nudge to push you towards the potential we both know you have.
I earned my Master's in Counseling and PsyD at Fuller Theological Seminary. I have had the privilege of working in hospitals, universities, private practice, and community mental health settings, and these experiences have given me a broad perspective on the unique difficulties facing individuals. My clinical training includes a specialty in spirituality and religious experiences (i.e., religious trauma and deconstruction). I work with individuals 18+ and help individuals who are navigating life transitions and/or relationship difficulties.

With over 20 years of experience, my background includes child welfare, medical social work, and family and individual therapy. My mother taught me and my brothers from a very young age not to ever hate anyone. Her words have been invaluable to me. My father instilled in us boys a mantra that too has served me well. He said to us innumerable times "Listen." Neither of my parents were strict disciplinarians, and they never used corporal punishment. But, from boyhood, through adolescence and into young adulthood, my brothers and I could count on a well-deserved lecture and extra chores if either of my parents ever caught us breaking one of these rules. My parents' philosophy helped steer me into my life's work, and I employ their beliefs daily in my career as a therapist. I believe people seek counseling so they can be accepted, validated and heard. I committed to myself long ago to never hate and to always listen to my patients/clients/consumers, regardless of their behaviors.Validation, empowerment and dignity are what I strive to create, cultivate and reap in every therapeutic alliance into which I enter.
I work with adults navigating a wide range of concerns, including anxiety, depression, stress, trauma, relationship challenges, grief, and major life transitions. I believe therapy can provide both the space to better understand yourself and the support to make changes that improve how you feel and function in everyday life.
My style is warm, collaborative, and supportive while still being practical and goal-oriented. I’ll take time to understand your experiences, strengths, and what you hope to gain from therapy. Together, we’ll explore what may be getting in the way, build on what’s already working, and develop strategies that feel realistic for your life.
