My name is Darryl L. Griffin, and I am very happy to meet you. I have been a mental health professional for many years, graduating from Florida State University with an MSW, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the State of Florida. I have many years of experience working with several demographics, including children, adolescents, adults and Veterans. I use evidence-based theories such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT), and talk therapy. I look forward to working with you, and I hope you have a wonderful day!
I have more than 30 years of experience in the behavioral health field and have been in private practice since 2003. I work with adults, older adults, adolescents, individuals, and families who are navigating anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, PTSD, grief, stress, relationship challenges, ADHD, anger, impulse control, substance use concerns, cultural or ethnic issues, and major life transitions. I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Clinical Psychology in Cuba in 1982 and later completed my Master’s degree at Florida International University in 1998. My background has shaped a warm, culturally sensitive, and practical approach to therapy.
I understand that reaching out for support can feel difficult at first. My goal is to help clients feel safe, respected, and supported as they take that courageous first step toward feeling better and becoming a healthier version of themselves.
If you’ve been feeling overwhelmed, anxious, weighed down, or stuck carrying things you rarely say out loud, you don’t have to do that alone. I work with people navigating depression, anxiety, substance use, trauma, attachment wounds, and PTSD. In therapy, we’ll slow things down, make sense of what you’re carrying, and help you build a life that feels safer, steadier, and more like your own. Nothing is “too much” here, and you get to set the pace.

I’m Nicole Alvarez, LMHC, a Tampa therapist for couples, blended and traditional families, and individuals. I help busy partners and parents reduce conflict, rebuild connection, and gain practical tools for daily life. Evening and weekend telehealth across Florida; part‐time in‐office sessions in Tampa. Private‐pay welcome; superbills provided. Using Emotion‐Focused, systems, and skills‐based methods, I create evidence‐informed plans for executives, couples, blended and traditional families, and individuals. I hold an M.S. in Counseling from the University of Vermont, a Vermont LCMHC license and a Florida telehealth registration. I have been meeting with clients for individual therapy for over four years. The people I work with come to therapy with a range of concerns — including anxiety, depression, life transitions, relationships, and the experience of feeling 'stuck' without quite knowing why. I view the therapeutic relationship as central to the work.
