I believe that therapy is a journey that first begins with the courage to heal. Therapy should be a safe place to heal, discover, grow, and find moments of selah--which means to pause and reflect. The following quote sums up what I believe the healing process looks like: “Life is like an onion; you peel it off one layer at a time, and sometimes you weep” (Carl Sandburg).
I am originally from Connecticut but have lived in Florida for over 24 years. I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics with a minor in Psychology from Central Connecticut State University and my Master of Social Work degree with a specialization in Clinical Mental Health from the University of Connecticut.
My graduate school experience included working with clients dealing with schizophrenia in an in-patient hospital and working with Catholic Family Services, where I provided therapeutic services to clients ranging from adolescence to adulthood. As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, I have spent the last eight years working with “at-risk” children and adolescents, referred by the Department of Juvenile Justice (DJJ) Diversion programs. Factors to Consider When Choosing a Postpartum Therapist in Hialeah
Searching for postpartum therapists in Hialeah starts with finding someone whose experience matches what you want support with. Postpartum concerns can include depression, anxiety, birth-related stress, identity shifts, and relationship strain. As you compare therapists, look for listed specialties in perinatal mental health, postpartum support, or maternal mental health. The PMH-C credential can also signal specialized training in perinatal mental health care.
In Hialeah, local postpartum therapy options may vary by neighborhood, schedule, and appointment format. New parents may need care that fits around infant care, physical recovery, work, or changing routines, which can make virtual appointments a practical way to access more therapists. You can also narrow your search by appointment availability, therapy approach, and whether a free phone consultation is offered. Reading therapist bios can help you see how each therapist describes their style, focus areas, and experience with postpartum concerns before you book.
Therapy in Hialeah can be a significant investment without insurance. Using in-network insurance is one of the most reliable ways to reduce session costs and understand what you may pay before care begins. Headway helps you find postpartum therapists who are accepting new patients, review estimated costs after you enter your insurance details, and book directly when you’re ready.
