Welcome, I am so glad you are here taking this step in your therapy journey. Finding a therapist that aligns with your needs is crucial step in this process and it is my hope that sharing more about me, can further guide you in this step. First and foremost, I possess a Master's in Psychology and have a license in Marriage and Family therapy. I am trained in EMDR (Eye movement desensitization reprocessing) and specialize in working with trauma and trauma related conditions.
I've built my career working in adult medicine, with a deep focus on addiction and medication assisted treatment. Anxiety and depression are areas where I find this work especially rewarding. Regardless of what brings you here, I come to every session with genuine curiosity and a commitment to building real rapport. I see clients virtually, and I keep afternoon and evening hours on weekdays so scheduling can work around your life. Strong patient retention has always been a hallmark of how I practice, and I look forward to building that same kind of relationship with you.

Prioritizing mental health is becoming more and more important as our world is quickly evolving. As a marriage and family therapist with over 10 years of experience, I know that seeking help can be one of the hardest parts, so congratulations on taking that step! I empower clients to better manage anxiety, depression and trauma, as well as life issues.
Hi, I’m Marlee. I help people who feel stretched thin by anxiety, disordered eating, or family stress find steadier ground. I’ve worked with children, teens, and adults across schools, residential treatment, and group practice, so I meet you with real experience and without judgment. In our work together I draw on CBT, DBT, strength-based and behavioral approaches, and motivational interviewing, tailored to what you need rather than a one-size-fits-all plan. If you’re ready for support that fits your life, I’d love to connect.
I’m Carly Tolbert, a licensed clinical social worker and founder of Kaftan Collective. I earned my master’s degree in social work from UCLA and have nearly 20 years of experience supporting children, families, and caregivers. My specialties include supporting caregiver mental health, helping individuals healing from trauma, and the cultivation of relationships that shape our well-being. As a Black woman and mother, I’m especially committed to offering care that honors the experiences of Black, Indigenous, and People of Color.
I feel my purpose is to help people cope with the trauma of being human in these uncertain times. I am innately in tune with the language of emotion. I have an inherent understanding of people’s communication patterns and a gentle, approachable, non-threatening presence that provides people with a safe space to express themselves.
I became a therapist because there were so many points in my life that I needed a compassionate person to hear my story, to ease the constant ache of loneliness that weighed on my heart. I want to be that for others.
During my 20+ years as an educator, I witnessed closely how early childhood experiences impact all areas of development and brain architecture. I taught kindergarten, first grade, special education (children and adults) and art during this phase of my career. I created social and emotional growth programs for children on the autism spectrum. I am currently developing an art curriculum for teachers and parents that encapsulates how I use art to help people cope with trauma, anxiety, ADHD and dyslexia, that also provides engaging and non-messy ways to experience creativity and stimulate the right brain. I am also creating an art-based workbook for those healing from trauma.
I went back to school in 2020 for my masters in Marriage and Family therapy. I am a newly licensed LMFT. This process has been profound. I have worked with people from all walks of life and learned from each person who crossed my path. I accept that this is a constant learning process which inspires me. I am not sure my curiosity can be satiated.
I am a published author, and poet at heart. Drawing soothes my soul and music and dance bring tears to my eyes. I have a dry and quirky sense of humor. I will be happy to incorporate creativity into your sessions if you are receptive.
I look forward to the opportunity to connect.
Most of my clients are adults carrying anxiety, depression, trauma, or relationship and attachment struggles they've never had space to fully talk through, they have learned to just push through, and spent years holding everything together.
I'm a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with over 5 years of experience, the last 3 focused primarily on adults navigating trauma, PTSD, anxiety, depression, and attachment wounds. My sessions are soft but straightforward and comfortable. There's no pressure, just consistent openness to talk and process at your pace.
