I have lived in the Truckee Tahoe area off an on for over 30 years, I have an AA Degree in Early Child Development, a BA Degree from the University of California Santa Cruz, and I attended the University of. Nevada, Reno for my Masters in Social Work.
My husband and I have two grown children who live in Northern CA and Nevada. We are avid skiers, mountain bikers, and my hobbies include cooking, art, writing, and learning, and of course, playing with our mini golden doodle, Joaquin.
My roots are in Scranton, Pennsylvania; growing up, life was challenging and unpredictable for me and my sisters. I was the first member of our extended family who was able to put themselves through both undergraduate (BA - Latin American Studies/UCSC, and graduate school (MSW- Masters in Social Work, (UNR) and graduate with honors.
All three of my younger sisters followed in my footsteps to pursue higher education and to find success as Professionals.
My husband and I moved to the Tahoe/Truckee area together in the early 1990s, pursuing seasonal employment. We somehow made ends meet, things got a little easier each year, and he later pursued a career in resort and business management, while I pursued continuing education, mental health and licensure, and opening up my practice.
Our son and a daughter both grew up enjoyed attending local public schools in Truckee, and later the Univeristy of California; they are both living fulfilling adult lives in the nearby region.
Some seasons of life ask more of you than you ever expected, and somewhere along the way you stopped feeling like yourself. I work with teens, parents, and adults who are moving through anxiety, depression, grief, relationship strain, and the heavy stretches that come with big life transitions. I care deeply about supporting LGBTQIA+ and transgender clients, and families who want to understand and show up for one another a little better. So much of this work is simply remembering that you do not have to carry any of it alone.
Hello, I’m Charles, a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) dedicated to helping adults build healthier, more fulfilling lives. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with more than 4 years of experience. I have experience working with clients facing a variety of emotional and life challenges, including anxiety, depression, stress, adjustment difficulties, trauma-related concerns, and postpartum disorders. I provide evidence-based psychotherapy that supports emotional wellbeing, healthy coping skills, and personal growth in a supportive and nonjudgmental environment.
My therapeutic approach is integrated and tailored to meet your unique needs. I often draw from Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Motivational interviewing.
I am a licensed clinical psychologist with a doctorate in clinical psychology and more than twenty years of experience. My doctoral training was completed at an APA-accredited program, and I have spent my career helping people through high-pressure seasons of life.
I work primarily with adults and busy professionals, often the ones others rely on. Many of my clients look like they have it handled while quietly carrying anxiety, stress, burnout, or an exhaustion they have learned to push through. I also work with clients navigating life and career transitions and those healing from trauma. What people tell me they appreciate most is that I am warm and direct at the same time.
I believe that true healing begins when you feel deeply seen and heard for who you truly are. My goal is to create a warm, engaging space where we can explore your story together, looking beyond just your symptoms to understand you as a whole person.
I highlight your strengths in our sessions. Just think of me as your emotional cheerleader. I want the best for you, whatever that may be.

Perinatal mental health lives in that space: the longing, the loss, the love tangled up with overwhelm. Whatever you are carrying that led you here, know it is real, it matters, and you do not have to navigate it alone.
