I attended medical school at the University of Colorado and psychiatric residency at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center. At my practice, I provide comprehensive psychiatric medication management and evidence-based psychotherapy.
It's important to me to work with insurance providers. I work with most insurance providers in the DC, MD and VA area. I use Headway for insurance and billing, but will schedule our visits through a separate platform. For detailed scheduling instructions, please see my website: curatementalhealth.com
My practice is fully virtual. As a result, I do NOT prescribe any "Controlled Substances" which often require an in-person provider. These medications include stimulant medications for ADHD, like Adderall and Ritalin, and benzodiazepines like Xanax and Ativan.
Dr. Rivera employs an integrative style that focuses on the individual's sleep, diet, physical and mental fitness. Furthermore, he specializes in the diagnosis and management of attention, mood, anxiety, and psychotic disorders.

Choosing a therapist is a deeply personal decision. People often come to therapy feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or tired of talking in circles—and they want real change, not just support. That’s where my work is different.
