Hi, I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with a Master’s degree in Counseling and Development from Lamar University. I specialize in working with adults ages 18 and older, with a dedicated focus on helping clients heal from trauma and PTSD. My practice is designed to be a safe, welcoming, and open-minded space where you can share your story without fear of judgment. I am passionate about partnering with individuals who are ready to process difficult experiences and make meaningful changes in their lives.

I take a fresh, integrative approach to individualized psychotherapy, tailoring my treatment approach to each client's unique needs and goals. My work is grounded in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), which helps clients better understand and regulate their thoughts, emotions, behaviors, and reactions.

With seven years of experience as a Group Facilitator and Individual Therapist in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), I utilize evidence-based skills and mindfulness practices to help clients improve emotional regulation, increase self-awareness, and build resilience.

I am a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) with a DNP (Doctor of Nursing Practice) degree from the University of Massachusetts Global. I have experience working with adolescents and adults in multiple settings facing various complex mental health issues, including OCD, depression, anxiety, ADHD and mood disorders.

I am an LPC and a LCDC in the state of Texas and have years of professional experience with addiction, anxiety, depression, and trauma counseling with individuals and families. I also have a personal connection with substance abuse and have been in recovery for 13 years. I passionately believe that humans are tribal beings and need each other for support and healing. My name is Winell Soures, LCSW-R, SAP, MA, I am the Founder, Psychotherapist, and Facilitator for the Practice of Winell Soures, PLLC formerly EMPOW-R Services. I have over 20 years in Counseling, 14 of which are specified in Psychotherapy. In addition to a Master's Degree in Social Work, I have a Master's Degree in Africana Studies, with a concentration in African Psychology. I am also a Certified Emotional Intelligence Coach, working towards my Master Coach Certification.
