I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Certified Financial Social Worker who helps clients navigate anxiety, depression, relationships, and major life transitions. My goal is to create a safe, judgment-free space where healing and growth can take place. I believe that emotional and financial health are deeply connected, and I help clients build healthier relationships with both themselves and their money. My approach is compassionate, practical, and rooted in empowerment and self-awareness.
Welcome! I’m Nariah, a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner passionate about helping individuals navigate life’s challenges and improve their overall well-being. I believe mental health care should feel approachable, supportive, and free of judgment. My goal is to create a space where you feel heard, respected, and comfortable sharing your experiences. Whether you're seeking help for anxiety, depression, ADHD or other mental health concerns, I’m here to partner with you in creating a treatment plan that fits your goals and lifestyle.
I’m Christina, a warm, down-to-earth therapist who genuinely enjoys getting to know people and understanding what makes them who they are.
I’ve spent more than 15 years working with people in schools, hospitals, community mental health, crisis intervention, and trauma-focused settings. Along the way, I’ve supported veterans, first responders, trauma and abuse survivors, parents, professionals, adolescents, and neurodivergent individuals.
My path into therapy has given me the opportunity to sit with people during some incredibly difficult moments. It has taught me that there is almost always more to someone than what we see on the surface - and that life rarely fits neatly into categories.
I’m interested in the whole picture: your experiences, relationships, strengths, struggles, sense of humor, values, and the things you may not always understand about yourself.
I also believe therapy can be both meaningful and human. There will be serious conversations, but there can also be laughter, honesty, and those moments when something finally clicks.
You don’t have to have an impressive story or a perfect explanation for why you’re here. We can start with wherever life has you right now.
I’ve been a practicing clinical psychologist for 40 years. Over the course of my career, I’ve had the privilege of working with many different types of people, including those navigating PTSD, bipolar disorder, anxiety, eating disorders, veterans’ issues, parenting challenges, life transitions, and women’s issues. I’ve worked in private practice, counseling centers, nursing homes, inpatient treatment, and equine therapy, which has given me broad experience supporting clients across many settings and stages of life.
Taking the first step to find a therapist or meet a new therapist is tricky! I am so glad that you are here! I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and have been working in Community Mental Health for the past 3 years. My main focus that I work with in my practice over the past few years have mainly been PTSD and Postpartum.
I’m a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with over 11 years of healthcare experience. Before specializing in psychiatry, I worked in the Burn ICU and outpatient procedural settings, where I learned the importance of caring for the whole person during some of life’s most difficult moments. I earned my nursing degree from UNC Chapel Hill and my Master of Science in Nursing from Frontier Nursing University. I work with children, adolescents, and adults, and especially enjoy helping people navigate ADHD, anxiety, depression, trauma, and major life changes—like school, relationships, career stress, or grief—that can leave us feeling overwhelmed or stuck.
Welcome! I'm so glad you're here. My goal is to create a safe, supportive space where you feel heard, valued, and encouraged. Together, we'll build on your strengths, explore practical solutions, and take meaningful steps toward the life you want. I look forward to walking alongside you on your journey.
I’m a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner who works with children, adolescents, and adults. I understand that reaching out for psychiatric care can feel overwhelming—especially when you’ve been struggling for a while, have tried treatments that haven’t worked, or are trying to find the right help for your child.
I work with individuals experiencing ADHD, anxiety, depression, OCD, mood disorders, trauma-related symptoms, autism/neurodivergence, sleep difficulties, and emotional or behavioral dysregulation. My goal is to provide a space where you feel heard, understood, and comfortable being honest about what is and isn’t working.
While I work with all ages across the lifespan, I especially enjoy working with children and adolescents and patterning with parents who are trying to understand complex behavioral, emotional, or attention concerns.
After working 15+ years as an RN I am so excited to be making a difference as a provider of mental healthcare. Working from home allows me to offer better calendar flexibility to accommodate different schedules and to take care of my aging dogs at home!
I am compassionate and empathetic and here to help you reach your goals and become the best version of yourself.
During my training I worked primarily in community behavioral health. It is my goal to beneficially serve the community and provide support to those who need it while hoping to reduce barriers and stigmas that prevent people from getting the care they really need and deserve. Access is for everyone and I want to be a beacon of that message.
I have a certificate in Spanish for Healthcare Providers and as soon as I become a little more fluent I will be able to extend my services, accurately, into a second language.

I'm Brook Myers, LCMHC/LPC, and I own and operate Umberger Wellness Solutions, a telehealth practice serving clients in North Carolina and Texas. My approach to therapy is built around a simple belief: meaningful change happens when you feel genuinely supported, understood, and appropriately challenged—not when someone simply listens and sends you on your way. I work with children ages 6+, teens, and adults navigating anxiety, depression, OCD, PTSD, trauma, grief, ADD/ADHD, learning challenges, relationship concerns, and major life transitions. Before moving into clinical mental health counseling, I spent eight years working in education and school counseling, which continues to shape my work with children, adolescents, young adults, and families. Therapy with me isn't one-size-fits-all. I adapt my approach to the person in front of me because what works for one client may not work for another. I believe you're the expert on your own life, while my role is to help you recognize patterns, develop practical skills, work through difficult experiences, and sometimes challenge you to look at things differently. The goal is for therapy to feel like something we're doing together—not something being done to you.

Find an expert who truly understands OCD
Headway helps you manage obsessive-compulsive disorder with expert-guided support — from finding the right therapist or psychiatrist, to understanding costs, to scheduling with ease.
Factors to Consider When Choosing an OCD Therapist in Asheville
Finding OCD therapists in Asheville starts with looking for training that matches the care you need. Exposure and response prevention, often called ERP, is one therapy approach some clinicians use when supporting people with obsessive-compulsive disorder, and not all therapists are trained in it. As you compare therapists, look for bios that mention ERP, OCD intrusive thoughts, obsessive thoughts, compulsions, avoidance, or the OCD cycle. Some therapists may also list approaches like cognitive behavioral therapy or acceptance and commitment therapy, which can support OCD care when used by a therapist with relevant experience.
Asheville has a smaller mental health care market than many larger North Carolina cities, so virtual appointments can expand your options beyond nearby offices. This may help if you want a therapist with specific ERP training, a certain appointment time, or experience with related concerns like anxiety, compulsive disorder symptoms in adults, or obsessive behavior. When reading therapist profiles, look for the difference between a general mention of OCD and specific details about ERP training, session structure, and what the therapist focuses on in care.
Therapy in Asheville can be a significant investment without insurance. Using in-network insurance is one of the most reliable ways to reduce session costs and understand your estimated out-of-pocket expense before you book. Headway helps you compare OCD therapists who are accepting new patients, review their bios, check virtual or in-person availability, and see estimated costs after entering your insurance details, so you can find a therapist who matches your needs and accepts your plan.
