I’m Selena Hughes, a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor, and I work with adults facing substance use, anxiety, depression, PTSD, bipolar disorder, grief, and trauma. Together, we’ll make sense of what you’re going through, better understand your patterns, and help you reconnect with your strengths so you can feel more hopeful and in control.

I have worked in the field of mental health for almost 30 years. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor in the state of MS and I hold multiple certifications within my area of practice, including tobacco education and cessation treatment, youth mental health first aid training, cognitive-behavioral therapy, advanced cognitive-behavioral therapy, trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy specifically designed for foster care youth, and certified integrated mental health professional. I earned my Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Master of Guidance and Counseling from Jackson State University. I have worked in the areas of community mental health, vocational rehab, hospital settings, foster care counseling, and the private counseling sector. I have also participated in several research studies pertaining to tobacco cessation and education. I am a proud member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. as well as a veteran of the United States Army.

My motto is rooted in Philippians 3:13-14, "Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended; but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those which are before, I press towards the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus."

Hi, I'm Wendie. I'm a Mississippi LPC-S with 30+ years of professional experience in mental health services. I practice from a faith-based, Christian perspective. Faith and spirituality are unique to each individual; it is YOUR choice whether to receive secular or faith-based counseling. I also use play and animal-assisted therapies! I have helped clients with family conflicts, trauma, abuse, motivation, self-esteem, & depression. I also have extensive experience working with couples, children, teens, young adults, and the elderly. I believe in treating everyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of Mississippi and the state of Michigan.

I received my bachelor’s degree from the University of Mississippi (Hotty Toddy!) and my Master of Arts in Counseling from Reformed Theological Seminary. Before moving to Jackson, Miss. for graduate school, I worked with Cru (a campus ministry) for three years on the Ole Miss campus.

While living in Oxford, I also worked as the Administrative Assistant at Grace Bible Church of Oxford for two years.

Through receiving counseling in my own life, my desire grew to sit with and serve those experiencing darkness, hardship, or hurt in their own life. I want to utilize my life experience and education to walk alongside my clients as they uncover and develop their own internal resources.

A little about me: I bring a LOT of different perspectives to my work:

1) Educationally, I combine a Ph.D. in Behavioral Neuroscience (Boston College, 2010) and a Respecialization degree (essentially like another Ph.D.) in Clinical Psychology (Suffolk University, 2015)

2) Clinically, I have worked with all sorts of people, ranging from young to older adults, with simple adjustment issues all the way to complex neurological/psychiatric problems. That said, I specialize in the following issues: depression and anxiety disorders; OCD; bipolar disorder; women's issues, including domestic violence, perinatal, postpartum, and parenting problems; cultural stress and issues related to immigration; rehabilitation psychology (adjustment to severe, chronic medical conditions).

3) Culturally, I am a French native, with over 20 years living in the U.S., 10 of which were in New England and the past 10 years in MS, so I bring greater than usual open-mindedness to all sorts of perspectives!

I have been a LPC for over 10 years and have worked with a very diverse group of clients. They range in age from 6 to 60. I specialize in adolescents and trauma. I have also worked with depression, anxiety, personal relationships, parenting problems, addictions, emotional abuse, and physical trauma.

Taylor is a Licensed Professional Counselor and graduated with an Master of Arts in Addictions Counseling at Liberty University.

Taylor has a heart for anyone desiring freedom from addictions and traumas. Taylor’s passion is assisting clients in finding release from a range of mental health difficulties including trauma, addiction, anxiety, and depression.
