I am Area Britton, LCSW, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a Bachelor and Master of Social Work. My professional background includes experience in mental health therapy, school-based services, child welfare, inpatient healthcare, hospice, and substance use treatment, allowing me to support individuals across diverse backgrounds and life stages. My primary areas of focus include depression, anxiety, grief and loss, maternal mental health, life transitions, and women’s issues.
When trying to do it all yourself is no longer working....stress, anxiety, depression and life transitions can feel heavy and burdensome. Would you like to put that down? You need understanding, insight and someone to dig in with what is going on within all the layers that make you...YOU. We all need help sometimes to work through expected and unexpected life events. You may be surprised at how you are responding or that you are researching treatment options period.
I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor who believes therapy should be a place where you feel safe, understood, and empowered to grow. I work with adults navigating anxiety, trauma, relationship challenges, life transitions, burnout, and identity exploration. Many of my clients are professionals, caregivers, and helpers who spend so much time supporting others that they forget to care for themselves. I provide sex-positive, kink-affirming, LGBTQIA+-affirming therapy and affirming care for people in consensually nonmonogamous (CNM) relationships, creating a space where you can show up as your authentic self.
Brittany is a proud native of Atlanta, Georgia, and was raised in the vibrant communities of Decatur and Stone Mountain. She pursued her passion for understanding human behavior and mental health by earning a Bachelor of Science in Behavioral Analysis from Savannah State University in 2010. Committed to deepening her expertise, she continued her education at South University, where she obtained a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling in 2013.Brittany’s journey into the helping profession was driven by her innate passion for supporting and uplifting others, particularly youth and women. From an early age, she was fascinated by the complexities of psychology and mental health, recognizing the profound impact that guidance and therapeutic intervention can have on individuals' lives. Her career as a counselor allows her to serve as a vessel for change, helping individuals enhance their quality of life, foster personal growth, and achieve mental, social, and spiritual well-being. With a natural ability to listen attentively, demonstrate empathy, and connect with people on a meaningful level, Brittany has dedicated herself to providing compassionate and effective counseling services. She specializes in working with adults dealing with Depression, Anxiety, Women’s Issues, and various life transitions. Through her work, she strives to create a safe and supportive space where individuals can heal, grow, and regain a sense of empowerment in their lives.
I’ve spent years sitting with people at their lowest—through addiction, crisis, and the kind of pain that can make life feel unmanageable. That work taught me something I bring into every session now: nobody is “too much,” and no story is too messy. These days, I’m more focused on slower, steadier work. Whether you’re worn down by depression, gripping through stress, or finally ready to be honest about drinking or using, I’ll meet you where you are with steadiness, honesty, and compassion. You don’t need the right words yet; we’ll figure it out together.

My focus is to provide a safe, supportive space where you can process life events, build resilience, and move toward balance and fulfillment.
Originally from the West Coast and now based in Atlanta, Georgia, I enjoy mentoring, reading, staying active, and spending time with my family. I believe therapy is a journey we take together — one built on trust, compassion, and hope.
